I did 1 run where the squire kills me.
next run, i make it through to the third boss completely blind.
the RNG is all that matters.
people said my "Achievements" mean it's not heavy RNG?
I don't even know what the second or third boss do, all i did was mash attack til they died because i got good RNG
I don't think the game should be changed other than maybe an extra room before the boss and less "broken" doors forcing you to rooms that aren't worth entering.
they arnt legitimate that is how we know you are trolling. though I guess you did get me to respond again. point goes to you I suppose
even Dead Cells is technically "harder" than this game, but is much more forgiving because you can block, dodge and stagger enemies.
You can block dodge and stagger enemies in this game too :D
All things considered, BoI is about is old-school as it gets in terms of this type of games (NOT the actual rogue-likes), and it has crazy rng, you can have a build which erases the entire screen in seconds, and it's kinda part of the point. Yes you can have busted builds and reroll to have a higher chance of building one but you can also win with most average or even ♥♥♥♥ builds. Skul is much the same. It's not that the game doesn't have player skill involved, you're just playing in different and specific way.
To be fair you can only block with certain skuls that have those types of skills, and even then those go on long cooldowns. But yeah, dodging gives plenty of invincibility frames for bosses, and all attacks pretty much stagger any enemy that isn't a giant/boss. I don't find find the block/parry/counter-type skills to be all that worthwhile in this game anyway, and prefer sticking to dashes and jumps.
