Apparently whatever door you pick determines what's in the next room, but there is zero indication on what each door is.

green is skull, gold is treasure, red is adventurers, and the last is just gold

Green Fire give new skulls.
The one with gold around it, crown, or whatever, contains an item.
Empty archway provides gold
Broken Archway can't be entered (obviously)
Purple gate is for the shopping district/ship
Blue gate is transmission area
Red gate with weapons - Adventurers
Big Purple gate - stage boss area
