After you get fired from The Westport Independent and escape from Arstotzka from your second job, you hope this time to things work out on a TV Station. Third time is a charm, right?

As someone who works in the sector...This is terrifyingly close to reality.
The madness of waving your arms around trying to avoid black on air, chasing down who the **** is transmitting in your uplink band causing interference, preventing the talent from turning living rooms blue before the watershed...It's all here.

Highly recommended.
I'm going to try to assemble some pres and live production engineers to capture their reactions to this.

Some ideas that occurred:
Having to cue/rewind tapes before they can be used.
Having to switch which internal output goes to transmission (Feed1-4/VTs)
Adding an emergency backup tape of dated light comedic content to play when something horrendous happens.
Co-worker spilling cola on the audio faders, and having to whip them up and down to get signal back.
Max Headroom appearing if you fail certain bad interference.


On a slightly negative note, I did have issues with the clips syncing up, and playing back smoothly.
I suspect it's down to my setup though, so I'll be fixing things, and updating my review once it's all good.

Not bad at all, I enjoyed my stay with this game! Good story, funny acting and engaging gameplay! Smiley face!

The game crashed and I was convinced it was actually part of the game.

Not for broadcast is an incredibly funny Papers, Please-like game, where you run a live switching broadcast system for a news station.

You are tasked with running the show smoothly, while at the same time making choices regarding a more sinister story arch. One that revolves around an increasingly dangerous government.

The main gameplay has you try to just run the broadcast. You can switch between different cameras, and the game teaches and rewards you for doing it well. You need to show the person talking, but if they talk for too long, you should switch to other angles to show people reacting, or else viewers will get bored. It all felt very realistic, and simulates how it is in real life.

The game has you multitask constantly, which makes things intense, because you obviously don't want to lose your job. Censoring swear words live is thrown into the mix, and sometimes you need to avoid signal interference by moving a knob around.

Every few minutes, you also have to correctly time when to cut to ads. Ads that you have chosen from a collection. Some of them might have consequences if played, or not played.

When a topic is being discussed, sometimes you also get a choice of what picture to display. It depends on how you want the public to see what is being discussed.

In between work days, the game tells your story via text. You have to make tough choices, like family, or obeying the law.

All of these will have consequences, or would, because unfortunately the game released in Early Access, and only has 3 levels at the moment. They're amazing so far, but I beat it all in about 2 hours, and didn't really get to see how ANY of my choices played out so far.

Regardless, what is here currently, is truly fantastic, and makes me so excited to see the rest of the game when its done.

The music is a great listen, and when it wants to be, can be very intense.

The acting in all the live-action segments is top notch. You know exactly what people are thinking without them saying anything.

I need to commend the game for being really funny too, because although the world is a bit grim, some absolutely absurd situations happen in every broadcast, which really had me laughing out loud. And these actually play into the puzzles of the game, because you are many times trying to figure out what the hell is going on, so that you can know what exactly needs to be switched to.

Overall, its short at this current stage, and left me wanting more. But it's so much fun. I love the world they've built and I can't wait to play in it more!
