Fishing - Perfect catch virtually impossible on computer
I play hades on my computer, using a keyboard obviously, and despite my reaction time being as quickly as possible, i pretty much never manage to do a perfect catch unless im extremely lucky, or mindfully timing my E click after the 3rd bait passed and i know a catch is about to occur. For a super long time I just assumed my reaction was somehow not fast enough and i was getting super upset.
However, my boyfriend who also plays hades, plays hades on switch. and i tried to do couple runs on his game on switch and guess what.. i managed to do perfect catch EACH TIME !!! (even acknowleding some of my reactions were much slower then my reactions on the computer, i still managed to get perfect catches on the switch super easily - which would NEVER happen on the computer).

So then I realized that my reaction time was never the issue, its the fact that for whatever reason, using a keyboard reduces your time window significantly, or alternatively takes longer for the game system to process.

I dont know what would be the solution for this, but i would ask that you somehow address this or increase the perfect catch-time window entirely.

As a gamer that cares about achieveing and maximizing every aspect of the game i play, I do really want to aqquire all the fishes and its upsetting i still have some locked fishes in my codex because I am playing on an "inferior platform" which being the computer in this case, compared to a switch.

Do you have a controller to try? I know this doesn't solve your keyboard issue, but I and many players have managed perfect catches plenty of instances via controller, while playing the pc version of the game, so "virtually impossible on computer" is not quite accurate here.

Using keyboard doesn't reduce reaction window, I think it's just a matter of pressing a button on controller being easier than a key on a keyboard. So it comes down to how you execute it. For me, what works almost every time to get a perfect catch, whether it's keyboard or controller, is gently tapping the button or key without pressing it, so that I'm better prepared to press it when the time comes.

However, if you feel like the window feels smaller on a computer than on Switch, then maybe it's a matter of your specs not being enough in some aspect on computer, introducing a lag that's just big enough to mess with the Perfect Catch. Worth looking into it, to make sure you have enough RAM, the graphic card drivers are up to date and you have enough disk space free just in case. There are also some things you can do to improve the performance listed here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1145360/discussions/1/1753520467359788156/
