Thanatos bugged?

Hello,

I've been playing the game a few months ago while it was in early access and during that time I met Thanatos about twice during escape attempts. Both times I met him I ended up dying during the fight. I picked up the game back now that it's fully released and I've now done over 30 runs and escaped 9 times but I've never met him again.

I was wondering if it's normal that I cannot meet him anymore and I'm simply unlucky or if dying twice while meeting him during early access made it maybe impossible now to meet him again.
I don't want to have to make a new game now that I made so much progress :/

It sounds like bad luck - we're looking at a backend change that will make the first encounter with Thanatos more likely to show, but in the meantime, note that the first time he appears will always be in Elysium, and after that he can show up anywhere. Try targeting Elysium and going through as many normal combat rooms there as possible (not trials of the gods, not chaos/erebus gates, etc.) to increase his chances of showing up.
