Unlocking final aspect
New to the game, I am trying to learn exactly how to unlock the final aspect for a given weapon and cant seem to find consistent information.

Do you need to only reach or defeat the final boss once ?
Do you need to spend 5 Titan Blood only on the weapon for which you intend to unlock its final aspect, or must you spend 5 TB on every weapon before you can unlock any ?

each final aspect has specifics requirements.
Simply play the story and you'll unlock them.

I will try and do this for the most part yes. I am to understand however that TB is a limited resource and not so easy to come by. I would like to unlock the final aspect for my chosen weapon by spending as little as possible, so knowing if I need to spend 5 on each weapon before any can be unlocked would be helpful knowledge up front.

I don't want to spoil the story here, but TB only seems rare at the begining. You'll have more than enough to upgrade all aspects.
Upgrade weapons you like, try differents builds and all will come smoothly :)

The spear is always the first hidden aspect you can unlock according to the wiki:
To reveal the Aspect of Guan Yu, you must
- Purchase the Fated List of Minor Prophecies from the House Contractor
- Reach the final boss (defeating the boss is not required)
- Invest Titan Blood into 5 separate non-Zagreus aspects
- Talk to Achilles (with any weapon equipped) until he gives you the waking-phrase ("I see you through the eyes of the crimson phoenix")

Other hidden aspect requires to invest 5 titan bloods into the weapon aspects
+ talking to some npc until they reveal the phrase (Artemis, Nyx, Zeus, Asterius, Chaos)

Thanks. Another question, so after 10 escape attempts the game is already starting to feel repetitive and grindy. I'm not trying to hark on the game or anything because its Supergiant and I've been wanting to get into it since I first heard of it.. but this is the first game in their line up that hasn't hooked me. I get the fundamental design is based around repetition and failure, but its starting feel old real quick. Should I stick it out, does it get better when you unlock more stuff or have I seen as much as the gameplay loop as I'm going to see ?

Stick with it. I felt the same way, but I kept playing past that and ended up playing 20 hours in one weekend. The biggest draw for me was the dialogue back at the house after every death and unlocking more weapons and aspects. Some of them change the gameplay and speed you go through the encounters dramatically. I’m 65 hours into it between my steam and Switch playtime and I think I’ll put another 20 before I see the story to the end.

I'll stick with it. I want to like this game so I'll give it the chance.

update: okay, 4hrs later I may not have made large progress but I'm finally starting to enjoy myself.

After 65 hours I'm happy with what I've done and are ready to put the game down. It was fun, very fun.

Was going to stop playing after bringing persephone home , but decided a more upbeat and story friendly ending was to push on long enough to fulfill the family reunion prophecy.

I have favor with everyone in the house except Achilles & Petroclus
& favor with enough Olympian Gods to satisfy the aformentioned prophecy.

I've abandoned any notion of trying to 100% the game because from here it's diminishing returns so I don't see the need to grind further. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and am glad I pushed through as far as I did.
