just played for 3 runs. does the section in +1 tree still add up? for example I got 2 different types of power ups in my special do they both work or only the active one in the 1st row?

sry if my question is a bit confusing I dont know how they call it yet

The Attack, Special, Cast and Dash Boons have primary boons for each God, only one of which can be active on each category. Sometimes Gods offer to replace one with theirs of a higher quality, but that will be specifically noted when the boon is offered.

Then there are addons to boons that can be offered, which can all be basically stacked forever. Like Artemis having a Boon that has enemies suffer damage when your Cast stone falls off enemies, which can be gained regardless of which God is affecting your Cast (as long as the Cast gets stuck on enemies, anyway).

So, tldr:
You can't stack the Attack, Special, Cast nor Dash boons themselves, the new one replaces the previous one, but addons to those Boons can be stacked.

was one of them a daedalus hammer or hermes boon?

zag only has one attack/special/dodge/cast/ult boon slot, you cant have athena (deflect) and ares (inflict doom) on your special; getting offered a second will overwrite the first (at a higher rarity; and will communicate that something is being replaced)

... daedalus hammer upgrades are seperate from boons, you could have say athena special and stygian blades double special hammer upgrade at once (and you can have double special with bigger special... though sometimes hammer upgrades are mutually exclusive -choosing one will disable others from appearing later in the run- or wont appear for certain aspects at all)

hermes is the other exception; hermes boons dont compete with any of your ability slots (messenger); he has boons that enhance and enable things, notably he has one that makes your special faster (so you could have athenas special, with two daedalus modifications and hermes speed boost all directly affect it -along with more generic boons, like ares damage boost or artemis support fire)
