need cheese strat for bull and shield guy
this boss just ruins the entire game for me, they both have an enormous amount of health, deal massive damage, and i just can't kill them consistently...i think out of 60 attempts i've only killed them twice and i absolutely dread fighting them like you would not believe

Use Shield as your weapon. It's honestly the most broken weapon cause it can basically block most attacks.

And if you got the chance, always pick Ares's 'Blade Dash' Boon, and just dash back and forth at enemies, which will summon Blade Rifts right at their faces and slowly chip away their HP, and at the same time, dashing will help you dodge a lot of damages.

There are no cheese strats. Just have to learn the bull's moveset and keep Theseus spear throw timings in mind. Extreme measures Theseus is, IMHO, an easier version to deal with, but EM Asterius is a menace.

One thing you can do is, get a god's call with invulnerability (Athena or Ares, and IIRC Hades call works too), so that when Theseus cries for gods help, you can deal damage to him unpunished and not having to deal with his shield.

which weapon is best against them, or maybe is there a mod or something that just lets me skip bosses altogether?

I'd recommend to use the shield with chaos aspect so that you can constantly deflect Theseus' spear and constantly attack Asterius from a safe distance. Best thing you can do is ignore Theseus and focus Asterius (the bull) and stay constantly behind the columns if you don't want to even pay attention to Theseus.
The"cheese" strategy for this battle is to stand behind a column in front of Asterius and wait until he attacks you, when you see the animation quickly dash behind him and you can hit him a couple times. When he is about to jump just dash again and keep attacking him.

I've had the most success with the bow and the starting sword. Just need to be lucky and get a good build early on so you're prepared when you have to fight against the duo. For the starting sword a "cast" build worked even better and it was so overpowered. I barely used my sword and 90% of the things I picked were just buffing my cast. Works better if you also have the 3/3 cast mirror ability.

Kill Bull first.
When Theseus half health and calls on the gods, he's stationary and undefended by his annoying shield. Just drop all the damage you can on him. Some of the gods he calls on have small, fast areas of attack and others have slow large areas.

For the small fast ones, dodge in a triangle around and through him. The fast moving areas take a second or two to catch up and you can constantly dash strike and attack through him for damage.

For the big ones, they're harder but usually they leave a little space between the areas that you can dash to before the damage drops on you. Use I Frames also.

If you use sword and have a half decent build you should be able to put enough damage on him to kill him before he even starts his second phase and brings up his annoying shield.

Also, his extreme measures pact makes Theseus way easier to deal with, he mostly just stays out of you way for the whole fight. Asterius gets a bit harder but nothing unmanageable.

Using Dyonisus can help, especially if you're using a fast attacking weapon, like the rail or fists. Specking into damage over time can be good for just keeping pressure on the boss at all times. And the duo blessing with Ares and Dyonisus increasing the hangover damage to 3 times a second is really good when you get a full 5 stack on the boss.

I go the other route. The bull is so much more beefy that I tend to focus down Thesues first, sometimes on accident. If you take Zeus chain lightning on a rapid attacking weapon, like the rail, you'll tend to wear down Theseus even if you aren't really aiming at him.

Theseus is mostly easy to avoid. You get the target on your head. So you can just use one of the columns to block his shot, or just keep moving around the outside of the arena and he'll miss. The bull has a pretty easy to avoid moveset once your learn it.

If you end up fighting the bull solo as a mini boss a few times, it's much easier to learn his move set. He's really only got 3 moves.

1) Big wide swings, followed immediately by...

2) A distance closing leap towards you that you can easily dodge under. This is your dps moment. Watch for those big wide swings, then dodge towards him when he jumps. Hit him in the back. He'll usually jump at you a second time. Dodge towards him again. Hit him in the back.

3) Sometimes he'll do his bull's horns move where he charges at you. Mostly just dodge back and forth through a column here until he runs into it and stops. You can score some hits here, too, but it is less safe. Sometimes he just starts doing those wide swings out of nowhere again.

Sometimes he sends these shock waves out when he does his leap attacks, but it shouldn't be a problem since you'll be dodging through him to end up behind him every time he leaps.

Once you've got the bull's moves down, all you really have to worry about is Theseus and his spear timing, so you can pummel him right after he throws and has his back to you.

I'm mostly talking from extreme measures Theseus point of view. He's real annoying to kill first with his mobility and AOE damage. He's not much of a threat you just have to always play catch up with him. Much easier to focus down the enemy that actually wants to fight you and worry about him once you're done with the immediate threat.

On normal I sorta just smack whoever I'm near. If I get the pre-fight then I kill bull since he's already lower, and if I have a good build I just kill them both simultaneously. But extreme it's way easier to take out Asterius first. I haven't played normal in a while though, I need those heat points.
