Report a translation problem
I will probably never test this because a) I like hammers too much to skip them and b) the two times I bought the anvil it screwed my setup (gave me Hazard Bomb both times)

Its too bad it couldn't be: manually replace or choose one upgrade.
It doesn't always go my way but I enjoy the thrill anyway
Agreed. Too much of a gamble too late in the game.
Prior to my first success, I got it once on a build that I felt was certain to succeed.
Anvil is decent if you know that your upgrades are bad and there's a decent chance you can get a better one. That said, I'd only get it if I know that it can't ruin my existing build. I think I've bought it a total of 8 times out of 35 wins or so. Usually it just replaces one meh upgrade with two meh upgrades.
