finally beat Meg
after 28 or so attempts at escape. Is that typical? Pathetic? anyway, it was great.

it takes time but as long as you are improving

20-30 runs is the average for a first win, so you are much slower than average. As long as you are enjoying the game and making progress though, it doesn't matter how long it takes. If you feel like you need some help at any point though, "God Mode" in the options can give you a little boost that may help things move along.

Got my first Hades kill after 8 runs, now past 30 and only just got my second one lmfao. It's so much rng, really gotta get lucky even with skill.

I think I took about that long too. I got good in the end such that I could finish the game and get all the achievements, so you can assume you will too eventually. You'll probably find that you won't beat her again for 4 or 5 attempts. Keep going, it's worth it.

No, not really, you just got extremely lucky early so it feels like that. I had a streak of 64 wins in a row at one point, so it's really not rng dependent.

My first win was i think at the 18th run, then i won like 5 in a row. RNG is important, true, but so is skill.

Also, being confortable with the weapons used. I can't stand the swords, no matter how much i beat the game with them.

rng is not needed but it helps a lot, like my first win was because i had a op build with spear which is my least favourite weapon, because the build had me able to use posiden call every like 5 seconds because of a duo boon

my fiance says I was lucky that I beat Meg the first time I encountered her. I then promptly died in Asphodel, lol

I mean, yeah it's kinda bad but do not worry, it's a progress based game and you should be fine if you are having fun and progressing!
It takes some time to get used to it, keep on!

When you're playing for the first time on your literal first run, meaning you have no weapon upgrades already unlocked, dying all the time to the bosses is totally normal.

28 attempts to beat meg is definitely not great. Good News is that you can only improve from there onward! Best of Luck

So I am pretty good at roguelikes but was bad at hades for a while, what I was doing wrong (in case you are doing it as well) was not trying to get boons that go together. Try to stick to getting from the same 2-3 gods (besides hermes boons since those are just movement based) rather than taking whichever boon sounds the best regardless of god. Also good tips are get "privileged status" from the mirror of night as soon as possible, and be strategic about what keepsakes you use (make sure to swap them between floors when it makes sense). obviously there are plenty of other tips but those made the most difference for me, good luck

She still gets the better of me every now and then and is one of the hardest Furies to take on, for me.

After 54 attempts I am still trying to complete this. :s
