Question about the boon/item menu in game.

I'm still fairly new to the game, love it!!! So this could be me just being a bit of a noob.

Can some one please tell me what selecting the boons/items does in the boon/item menu? There is like this little coin icon that comes up when you select a boon/item and then a list starts to form, what exactly does this do? I know it doesn't turn boons on or off I just don't get exactly how it works.

It is pretty much just for highlighting boons for screenshots. "These were the important boons to this crazy run I had!" sort of thing. You can also use it to look at more boons at once for yourself, in case you wanted to do that for comparison or planning purposes.

Yes, I had a feeling that it was for viewing purposes, it makes sense to have something like that so you can review the boons/items and there functions. I just was not sure if I was toggling something or not.
