God Mode
Hello everyone,

So I escape a few times and liked the game but its getting very repetitive right now and, honestly, kinda boring. I looked up the ending pre requisites and it says I need 10 runs to get it done. I kinda want to see the ending of the story at least before considering the game finished.

Would you say the story is worth it for the time investment? I got the hang of the game and can clear it pretty consistently with the spear, is it worth it turning godmode on to try and take less runs to finish it? I saw it increases your defense, does it changes anything else?

FWIW my last run took me 25 minutes with a terrible build, I was really unlucky with the boons and turned up the heat up to try the new difficulty.

Thanks in advance

There is all of the other side-quests to still do, as well as plenty of extra dialogue between everyone if you're into this world and its characters, and then there's the epilogue which can take dozens of extra runs to reach.

Basically, you're still looking at many more hours of gameplay. No sense in playing a game if you're not enjoying it enough. If you just want to see the ending, I'm sure there's a video out there of it.

Thing is apart from Thanatos I didnt really like the other characters. I think its the fact you only get bite sized ammounts of dialogue each time that made it hard for me to connect with them. Voice acting is top notch but apart from Zagreus the dialogue didnt really grab me like the other supergiant games did, I tought it was kinda samey. I guess it changes a lot when you grind enough affection but, yeah, not really in the mood for that.

I guess I will keep the game in the backburner and come back once in a while to clear a run after the burnout goes away,

Thanks for the answer

The game has a soft end and the story keeps going. God Mode just increases your damage resistance and increases by more each time you fail a run. I loved the characters, but if you are already board I am not sure it is worth the time investment. ~30-1 hour per run (total time, not clear time) is pretty normal, so we are talking about 10 hours to see the soft ending. It is a nice end and will give you a sense of conclusion.

I would go for it, but I love this game. The ending is not overly special.

I honestly don't know what you want us to say. If the game is fun, keep playing and you'll get the ending in like 5 hours now that you got the hang of it. If not, watch it or read it on the internet.

Thanks for the answers guys, I just completed a couple more runs an the dialogue opened up a bit. Its still meh but a little better now

Edit I think I will keep it as a stress relieving game, beating some runs from time to time

Just use the Adamant Rail with Aspect of Zagreus fully upgraded.
Use Dionysus's trinket, get Drunken Strike from him, and upgrade it with every available Pom. Super easy OP run.

Fun build, I hadn't tried it. With Doom on special and the duo that activates hangover more often, it's a nice combo. Plus Pressure points and Support fire.

The ending and credits doesn't happen after your tenth escape, you still need to make peace between Olympians and Cthonic gods.
