Where's Thanatos?

I've only ran into him twice and since then he completely disappeared. I haven't had a chance to give him nectar so I'm missing out on his trinket. Am I supposed to buy something or do something in order for him to appear?

Now that you've met Thanatos out there, you'll have a chance of running into him again on your escape attempts. He should appear approximately every other escape attempt or so, though like with many aspects of the game, it's not completely predictable.

I've met him when I first arrived in Elysium, for his introduction mission I suppose. Then the second time right after I died, in the house of hades. It's been around 15 escape attempts since. Maybe I'm just extremely unlucky. Or could this be a bug?

15 escape attempts since is definitely more than I would expect, though not strictly impossible. We're thinking about ways to cap the upper bounds of this. For now if you suspect a bug do feel free to press F10 in-game -- that goes straight to us and includes gameplay data we can use to dig in and see what's going on.

Thanks for your response. So it's intended that I will meet him eventually if I just keep playing? Like I said I don't know if this is a bug or not since you just told me that he's scripted to appear. If I continue to not meet him I will report it as a bug. Who knows.

Yeah, it's intended that you have a chance to encounter him during your runs, once you've met him. The chance is not super high so I wouldn't expect it to occur each run, but it shouldn't be extremely rare either.

Is it normal that he didn't unlock for me in codex, nor in respective prophecy? I encountered him but died before finishing his challenge.

How rare is he? I'm playing on Hell Mode and never encountered him after 30 escape attempts. Do you need Higher gauge of punishment to encounter him?

That sounds unusual to me offhand though I can't say for sure. If these don't unlock for you the next time you interact with him, please hit F10 and send us a bug.
