Getting Chaos Boon: Defiance

Defiance is the last Chaos Boon I need for their Fated List objective.
The wiki describes Defiance as: You have +1 use of Death Defiance (this escape attempt). Legendary.
Requires 1 of any other Chaos boon

Q: Is that all there is to it? Is there a way to tip the odds in my favor?

I've been doing runs with The Cosmic Egg keepsake, exclusively, so far no luck. Do I need to be missing a death defiance for this to replace? Or is it an extra DD no matter what?

Any insight would be appreciated.

There is no other requirement but i get it only once for now so it is a rare boons.
It seems to be available for both kind of death defiance, strangely.

I suggest you to unlock the skills from the mirror increasing legendary boons and to use keys to reroll boons. At max level you'll be able to try 9 boons each time.

Maybe you can spam it too. Pick the egg, use your rerolls and give up if you fail, then change weapons and pacts before trying again.

It adds an extra pip, so missing one doesn't matter. It is simply extremely rare. Running the egg and using the mirror to reroll their boon window is all you can really do for it.

There's not much use to run the egg actually, it won't increase boon rarity from Chaos or how many gates you see, all it does is remove the health penalty. Otherwise, yeah, get rerolls and once you have one Chaos boon, there's a chance it'll show up. I got it my first time without trying for it, so just keep at it.

It also helps to get Favor as your first Chaos boon, and maybe take Ariadne (tho idk if that applies to Chaos boons? It probably does). Basically as shown every boon rarity increase item also gives +10% Legendary/Duo chance, even if it doesn't say it, except Exclu Access. (Tho obvs god keepsakes still only apply to that god.)
