I have something like 300 hours in that game and have only managed to loop a handful of times. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love that game, but man am I bad at bullet hells, lol.
I just bought this gem today. It's a very similar format to Dead Cells but in run n' gun style.
At first I thought Fury Unleashed might be a bit too amateur to have staying power, but after about an hour I realized it's a whole hell of a lot of fun.
It's very similar to Hades.
Some notable differences:
- DSR features six protagonists to play as (via unlocking); all are female
- Definitely lacks Hades' style (story barely exists, art is bland, no voiced dialogue)
- Can swap weapons mid-battle in DSR
- DSR combat features stamina bar; battle is less button-mashy, more timing based
- About half of Hades' price
- Combat is top-down view, as opposed to Hades' 3/4 perspective
Notable similarities:
- Fighting through random rooms while progressing through in-game chapters / areas
- Tons of different (and random) upgrades, acquired after fights and in shops
- "Rogue-lite" as each run, whether victorious or not, can still mean a bit of progress
- Gradually unlock more powerful versions of starting weapons
- Somewhat possible to pursue "builds" during each run
- Combat and controls are very good
I've put about 85 hours into DSR, but haven't gone back after starting my 140-ish hours of Hades.
...Although, that is probably influenced by the fact that I'd unlocked nearly everything there was to unlock in DSR before starting Hades. Somewhat substantial content (including a new character + weapon) has been added to DSR since I stopped playing it.
