Kiss of Styx (Replenish 1 use of Death Defiance)

Stupid question I probably already know the answer for but don't want to waste the 200 coins to find out.

If I haven't died yet and purchase the Kiss of Styx at Charon's Well, Will I be throwing away 200 coin, like I think will happen....
OR
Will I get an 'extra DD?

I know, the key word in the description is REPLENISH, but I have to ask

It does not work. Clicking on it does nothing if you don't have used-up tokens.

Based on the comments here, I clicked Kiss of Styx having my Death Defiances full. I BOUGHT IT AND NOTHING CHANGED. NO EXTRA DD. Let this be clear for anyone else looking to know this.

Nothing happens sorry. The only things that allow you to expand your death defiance iirc should be Chaos' boon and the keepsake from Skelly.
