No posidon reaction after killing extreme measures theseus.

There is a minor prophecy that requires you to defeat theseus with the extreme measures condition lvl 3 and then talk to posidon. But when I pick up his orb in styx with the condition fulfilled I don't get any lines at all, the game just skips right to the boons.

What's going on?

Was his boon in the same run as killing Theseus? As far as I know, you only get dialogue when you pick your first boon from a given god in a run.

The gods normally only talk to you the first time you meet them in a given run. I wouldn't worry until you've met Poseidon in an escape attempt that you started after defeating Theseus.

I've beaten extreme measures Theseus three times now and picked Posidon's orb in Styx in two of these runs. So is this a bug?

You mean shop keeper?
No, you should meet him regulary on the run, not in chocie rooms or shop.
Also, dialog must be somewhat exhausted. Just play the game and soon enough you will get it.

Both places where it won't count as far as I know.
When you beat them and go for new run, try starting with Posidon item to make him apper as fast as possible. That should fix your problem.
Like many things in this game, your progress starts with new run.

It'll basically add the conversation to a pool of dialogue you've not heard before. Conversation you need might not trigger for a bit. Also, as above, gods don't chat to you when you buy them from shop.

The gods do have lines for when you purchase them, saying they won't chat with you is incorrect. However, they have different dialogue pools depending on how you encounter them. If you purchase them from the shop, they have a pool of dialogue that's specific to that instance that you won't encounter otherwise. The only exception to that is duo boons, as duo dialogue can still come up with purchased boons. All dialogue related to prophecies and general narrative progression must be encountered through regular chamber boons.

Also reminder that just because you've completed an objective does not mean you will immediately get necessary dialogue.
