Thanatos not giving the favor/unlock dialogue

Just completed my 64th or 65th run. As far as I can recall, I have won Thanatos several (no less than 5 at least) times in his challenge AFTER reaching the locked heart. Thanatos never gave the "escape without help" dialogue and I am not able to give him Ambrosia so far.

For his dialogue in the most recent appearance, I thought that was a filler dialogue since it was a single line, sth like "Zag, let's deal some deaths." After I won him he just dropped the Centaur heart and an "I must go now" aaaaaand left.

The issue is that, I can accept that he only appears about once in four runs and count that as I'm just unlucky, but now this looks like a bug or something.

P.S. I also wonder if it is true that if I didn't meet him in a run, I won't see him in the house after that run.

I'm having this issue as well. I've maxed out his Nectar, consistently beat him in he contests during escape attempts (more than a dozen times) and have defeated the final boss several times. All I get are generic responses before he disappears. Is there a glitch? Going over 100 attempts with no progress on this.

Is the "escape without help" dialogue something that has a choice selection or does this become a minor prophecy? If so, I have no recollection of having that with Thanatos. I've occasionally seen him in the House just southwest of Achilles and that's where some of the conversations and gift giving occurred.

And then one day he gave me a Cthonic (spelling) companion and kept going from there.

I believe there was a time or two where Thanatos wanted to speak with me at the House and instead I gave him a gift and then he teleported away. Not sure if it's in my dialogue pool waiting to happen still, if I skipped it, or the conversation may be something differently entirely.

I'm having the same problem... I still get unique dialogue with him from time to time but I am waiting for that specific line so I can finally start the romance...

This game could really do with a quest log or something that's a little more clear.

I had a similar issue. Did you get the credits yet? Apparently after a certain amount of successfull escape attempts (i believe it's three, but i might be wrong) Thanatos refuses to give that line until you get the credits. Why? Beats me. But that fixed it for me, i got the line shortly after the credits.

Apparently after a certain amount of successfull escape attempts (i believe it's three, but i might be wrong) Thanatos refuses to give that line until you get the credits. Why? Beats me. I haven't gotten the credits yet but I have had more than three successful escape attempts. So basically I'm being punished for being good by having content and keepsakes withheld until I beat the game? Nice.

It's 10 successful attempts to get the Credits.
