Patroclus Keepsake Trouble

Good day to everyone. I have a question: why I cannot give any nectar to Patroclus? His name is in the codex and everything, and I have every keepsake (even Persephone’s) but his. I feel I am doing something wrong somehow. Does this have anything to do with me always having stubborn defiance and always choosing the same item? (Touch of Styx dark) I have no idea if the unlocking of his keepsake is random or not. Please help >< also I'm playing on a nintendo switch.

This might be a silly question but just checking: Have you made sure to open the codex entry and mark it as read? There is a little yellow dot next to each entry/name that receives an update, and it won't go away until you flip to the page.

Yes, I open the entry every time I get inside Patroclus' room in the hope that something will trigger. I have talked with Achilles too, I think I also got achilles' mission.

I'm sorry I'm not sure then. ): I checked online and the general consensus is that once you learn Patroclus' name, either by reading the codex or hearing it from Achilles, you should be able to gift nectar and receive the keepsake. I didn't have an issue.

I haven't seen anything about choosing the same item, although I don't always choose Death Defiance with him. So I think it's worth a shot to try one of each.

The developer posted a sticky thread with bug issues in this Discussion forum; this truly sounds like a bug so I would recommend you look there if you don't get an answer.

Have you tried reaching him with Myrmidon Bracer (Achilles' keepsake)? At one point it should trigger a line where Pat recognises it and asks about Achilles and you should be able to gift him since next run. Or you just need to talk to him long enough so he asks you about Achilles himself, and then again - you should be able to gift him next time you see him.

Some lines trigger randomly and it's not that easy to find Pat in Elysium, so it does take some time to get his keepsake, unfortunately.

This is correct.

Yes, you have to keep talking to Achilles <-> Patroclus, each have triggers for the other one.

OP even has Persephone's keepsake, meaning they must have beat the game at least 10 times. Since they have Achille's "mission" (I assume they mean Prophecy), they must have a high enough affinity with Achilles (speech + nectar). Seems a but much for just the keepsake if OP already has Pat's name in the codex. There should have been a dialogue where Zag asks Achilles about him too.

I see Patroclus fairly often (luck), but I think I was wearing Achille's keepsake like Tiank so maybe this is the key: Pat has to know that you know Achilles (or Achilles has to know that you know Pat).

okay, so babycakes was right. It was a bug. I tried updating the game to the latest update and next run I was able to gift nectar to patroclus. The second I updated the game, when i checked patroclus' codex entry the line where zag recognizes him immediately triggered, which had never happened. I was able to talk to achilles about patroclus' location and the next time I met him, he talked to me. thank you all for your help :)

Oh that's weird lol but congrats! His keepsake is pretty good once it's maxed out.
