Lambent Plume and Pierced Butterfly
I understand coming from a design perspective, it is fair that the bonuses are low for these keepsakes, especially for Lambent Plume as it has a chance to just ignore damage, but the keepsakes just feel generally unrewarding to use. I use it for the entire run, and I get maybe a 24% percentage buff for damage with butterfly. Now my attack goes from 60 to like 75. Going practically flawless an entire run leads to practically no benefit, and it feels like you have done nothing by playing well. It just doesn't make sense to take them whenever you could easily take something like Athena's owl, or Dyonysus' cup, and benefit the entire run from taking it on one floor. Also, I get it is supposed to balance the items, but having the well of charon items count the styx encounters where the Plume and Butterfly only count the last room makes the game feel stacked against you for the purpose of difficulty, and no other reason. I don't get why you can lose buffs from the encounters but not gain any buffs. I love the game so far and I'm not the greatest player to say the least, but some of the mechanics seem senseless, especially whenever you get to a point of high heat.

24% is extremely low from the butterfly for a full run, like you were only ever able to proc it in Tartarus and never again. Heck, that isn't even at the achievement level of 30%, which should probably be a minimum you should be aiming for to be worth it. A bow run I did recently got over 50%, even managed to proc it during EM Theseus which was a nice surprise.

Also assuming the buff works like Aspect of Eris, it can be quite powerful, depending somewhat on your weapon/build. Such a buff increases all damage dealt, notably including flat damage sources like Zeus and Dionysus, so it can scale very well.

And there is something like 25 rooms in Styx, 80% of them being a couple enemies that can be killed in a couple seconds. Being able to stack 30+% damage or 18+% move and dodge essentially for free would very likely be way too powerful.

From my understanding only the final rooms count for the keepsakes, not the smaller mid-rooms.

+30% damage across the board is not bad at all. That's basically a few levels of boon on everything. As for the Plume, I've had success stacking it with other dodge sources. With the fists I've gotten like, 60% dodge.

Plume is great with Zagreus gloves and Hermes evasion boon.

- It works only in the final room of Styx, not all of them (not even sure if you are supposed to take 0 damage during the full Styx path for it to work)
- There are about 8-9 rooms in Tartarus so it'd be more 16-18%
- 24% isn't particularly low or high (especially depending on the weapon)
- True that it's worth IMO only above +30%

The keepsakes only work in the final rooms, period. You can take damage in any of the previous rooms, Plume/Butterfly timer will only go into effect in the final room.

For the butterfly, there's very few offensively oriented keepsakes, it's basically the butterfly, and one of the two postgame keepsakes (sort of) for simple extra damage potential. There's three other damage increases, they're all conditional and the highest modifier is +40%.

Unconditional bonus damage is really powerful. Even at just +20% it's a strong option.

And so is unconditional dodge chance. It's not unreasonable to stack the lambent plume up to 20% dodge. That's an epic hermes boon right there.

Of course, if you find yourself unable to stack the keepsakes then they'll perform worse, and some weapons/aspects and builds are gonna have a harder time of it than others.

A certain amount of the design of these keepsakes are about the challenge aspect as well. It is not just about the payout but also about the requirement.

For me butterfly help me understand this game better i play better don't rush in rush out but instead i watch them read them for rewards at the end of encounter the skull smoke popout very satisfied.

So butterfly is help to teach player to play better with a small rewards.

I've stacked the Plume up to 36% myself. Even have it screenshotted and shared if you need proof. As for Butterfly, 20% flat bonus is a LOT, though your weapon and build matter a lot too. For example, if you go for either a casting build or a high RoF build that uses Zeus' Strike/Flourish it'll really shine, since it'll multiple the damage of that. On the other hand, if you're using say Aspect of Arthur or another heavy hitter with Aphrodite and a Chaos Boon, that's gonna be a drop in the bucket.

TL;DR - You gotta know how to exploit it.
