is there a way to see how many times you played the lyre?

Sorry, I don't think there is. Don't worry about this one. We're not even sure if it's "rounds in which you interacted with the lyre" or "number of times you plucked the lyre", but I suspect it's the former because I spent a looooooong time twanging it and it still took many rounds before I achieved mastery. I suspect I was pressing the button unnecessarily. Just give it a tap on your way to the next run until it's done, and don't expect it to happen quickly.

Where is this lyre? I'm ~50 runs in and have yet to find/unlock it.

You have to pursue the story with Orpheus and Eurydice (quite a few stages to go through) until an item called the Singer's Gamble is available at the Contractor
