"Selecting" boons?

If I open the menu during a run to look at my boons, I can push A and that boon gets highlighted. I can highlight as many boons as I want, apparently. What does that even do?

This is to show off your build at the end of the run and share it.

On the end game victory screen you can select and highlight several boons. Just for showing off your victory screen basically, no gameplay benefit.

It's a good way to show "This is the build I used", pick out the 5 boons that were most directly important. It gives a good idea of how your run went.

It's just to display that, though, it has no mechanical effect.
