How can I gift nectar to Thanatos?

I basically can't gift him the thing 'cause the game doesn't even shows me the option to do it.

Also, why am I not getting any diamonds, ambrosia or titan blood for escaping the zones?, do I have to beat Hades first?

If he is talking to someone else at the House or disappears without dialogue after showing up during the run, you won't be able to give him nectar. Also you can't gift any nectar once you reach the lock, which you can check in the codex.
