Poseidon's final heart lock?

Hello everyone, I'm currently having troubles with unlocking Poseidon's final locked heart. I read the wiki and I don't think I've seen anything on how to do it except for the Theseus and the fishing rod thing. I've done both so honestly I'm really lost on wth I'm supposed to do here.

I'm post game (past the epilogue) and is trying to 100% percent the game and Poseidon is the only god I haven't bonded yet. ((Also, I wish we can get some sort of trophy for doing all of the Fate's prophecies but eh))

UPDATE: After the third try, I've managed to finally get his heart dialogue. Took me a while. Solution: It is just like what C4RNIVOR3 said, you need to at least catch 18 fishies OVERALL, then catch a fish in a run and take Poseidon's boons for the FIRST time. If you don't get it, try again and again.

The Theseus prophecy is not in the least related to finishing out Poseidon's affinity, that is a completely separate event.

Unlocking Poseidon's heart is exactly what the wiki says: you have caught at minimum 18 fish through previous runs, and you have a fish on hand before you encounter Poseidon in a run. The rarity of the fish doesn't matter, the game only checks that you have a fish on hand when speaking to him. There's no other hidden requirements.

I did that before, I've caught 188 fishes, then I caught a fish THEN get Poseidon's boon but it didn't happen. Twice in a row. I'll try again and see if third time's the charm or somethin :v Hopefully it's not a bug cause this is annoying.

I'm in the same boat as you i even stop selling my fish to the chief and keep them with me.

It never triggers for me aswell...

This doesn't matter. The game still counts the fish as caught if you sell them, there's no reason to not hand them in. The important thing about this is that you catch a fish on the same run you encounter Poseidon, but it has to be before you take his first boon.

There's no way to force specific dialogue to come up, it's just a matter of continuing to try. The game will check that you've met the requirements and enter that dialogue in the pool of available lines that could come up.

Oh i don't doubt that at all it is just becoming frustrating to never have this line of dialogue coming up even after doing the right thing to obtain it :<

I ran level 1 and if I got a fish equipped the Poseidon boon after Meg to force Poseidon encounter before drowning in lava on asphodel if the dialogue was wrong. Got there in the end.

A bit offtopic but stilll...
Please dont tell me I need to have romance with Thanatos in case of Aphrodite...I have full hearts complete with Meg and Dusa, but dont really want to have anything with Thanatos lol.

Last I checked it was either Meg/Dusa or Than/Dusa at mininum. IIRC romance or not actually doesn't matter, just so long as you've filled out their affinity (which can still be done when you choose the ease off option). I can verify this later to be sure but I don't think this has really changed.

You need all 3 on max BUT you don't need to have a relationship with all of them or two of them.
Meg OR Dusa OR Thanatos is enough to get Aphrodite to max BUT you need the other three at max first.
