The Elysium boss fight is rough
I managed to kill the bull, but the dude with the shield got me when he was like 2 hits away from dead

this fight is rough. though most of the difficulty is the dude can shoot me when i can't even see him off screen and i'm dealing with the bull

Kite Bull away from Theseus and kill him. When Theseus is about to throw his spear you'll see a target over you, dash behind a pillar to avoid the hit. Theseus 1v1 isn't too hard, he always turns his back after doing his throw so bait out the throw and hide behind pillar then dash back and hit in the back. Rinse and Repeat until he calls the Gods. Then try to do the same thing while also avoiding the God's attacks.

It is hard, but you're warned when Theseus, the lance guy, is about to shoot you, both visually (the pink crosshair shines more red), and auditively (there is a bip-bip sound that goes faster and faster). Also, in doubt, you can hide behind a pillar.

Each boss fight is harder than the previous one, and the Elysium boss is a notable jump in the difficulty, but it's all about learning their patterns, not rushing, and having a build solid enough. You'll get there, keep trying!

Yeah, the key here is really using the pillars for cover which is a lot easier said than done. Can't count the number of times I thought I was in cover but got tagged anyways because Theseus was in a different quadrant of the arena than a I thought. Just remember to get Asterius down as fast as possible by pummeling him in the back between his attacks. If you have a call you can choose to use it against Asterius or Theseus depending on how fast it charges but if you use it against Theseus you might want to hold it back and match his call with your own. He leaves himself completely open for almost five seconds while he's using his call and if you have a way to do damage while dodging or become invulnerable you can finish him off right then.

If you got Deflect on your Dash (from Athena), and you got the timing right, you can just bounce Theseus' spear back to him. Any kind of deflect will work, but I personally have the easiest time using it on my dash.

This boss fight is probably the biggest difficulty spike in the game - took me a good few attempts before I beat it for the first time, so don't feel like you're bad at things.

As others have said, the general procedure is to focus down the big bull boy first. After a few fights with him he becomes one of the most predictable bosses in the game: He doesn't actually have a lot of moves at all.

When ya spear boi Theseus is throwing a spear at you there'll be a lil pink crosshair appear on you. Once you've learned to spot that you'll be able to, with practice, know when the shot is going to be fired. There's a subtle audio cue to go along with. The key then is to get a pillar between you and theseus before he actually throws the spear. It can't go through those so it doesn't hit you. Whilst the minotaur's still alive you'll want to kite him relatively far from theseus so that you'll have a few pillars that can potentially block the spears.

After theseus throws a spear, he will walk off in the opposite direction of where he threw. That's the window to stab him in the back with your weapon of choice. When he gives God a call this naturally gets a bit tricky but the principle is the same.

It's the boss fight that probably requires the most practice, but I promise you it does get easier.

If you have Athena on your run and aren't going for a specific cast, then her cast makes dealing with his spear easy - just cast it at him when you hear him winding up to throw it at you. The cast moves slowly toward him, so you don't need to worry much about the timing - as the cast slowly moves toward him it will reflect his spear at any point in its 2 or so second journey.

The absolute best advice I can give is to lure the minotaur away from him early on and play with a pillar between you and him. Watch your character for a red target to appear over him, ti will become a more vibrant red the closer the spear guy is to throwing it at you.

Asterius almost entirely attacks in a straight line and is fairly predicable. Theseus should be ignored until Asterius is dead (at half health he get Olympian boons and makes the fight considerably harder bc you have to constantly move). Get Asterius away from Theseus then try to line him up to where he is attacking between a pillar and the wall with Theseus on the other side of the pillar. Dash-dodge through Asterius and keep him going back and forth. Rinse repeat until dead and then deal with Theseus.

Hope that helps! Also, the pact of punishment almost makes this fight easier to me as Theseus usually just rides around the outer edge of the circle until you've dealt with Asterius 1 on 1.

I beat it first try even though they did a lot of damage to me. I beat them using the gun with the upgraded grenade blast.

The only reason that fight is so hard is because they both have such insane amounts of health. So a hit here and there adds up, slowly leading to your death.

I had problems first time too. But for me most helpfull thing was realizing Theseus spear throw has audio cue. Even if you lose him somewhere on the map, you can hear the cue and hug the closest pillar, so you are not in the open.

I made the mistake of trying to take down Theseus first and whew... trying to dodge those attacks from the gods with the bull and the spear = hello Hypnos.
I found this fight is much easier if you focus Theseus instead of Asterius. Theseus has far less hp and once he hits Phase 2 can be very quickly killed using your Call, granted you won't deplete his entire health bar but you'll do considerable damage.

The strategy I used before being so juiced up on Upgrades and Aspects that I could face tank all their attacks and still have the hp to smack the final boss up as well, was to ignore Theseus and focus on dodging Asterius. Don't attack simply get used to Asterius' attacks. Once you've gotten adept at dodging Asterius. (You can learn this from the solo fight with Asterius as well since his patterns in both are the same) you can usually do it whilst fighting Theseus since both of their attacks in Phase 1 are Telegraphed very well. Focusing them equally will only make the fight considerable harder as you have to dodge the Aoe of Asterius' attacks as well as the gods The best piece of advice I can give anyone for this game is to not worry about dying. Try to learn the attacks and mechanics of the boss fight and once you have it down you'll start to beat Elysium a lot more consistently. Using cheese to beat this fight will only have you struggling later one when you have to use different weapons or boons

For Theseus' spear throw simply hide behind the pillars and once he throws it rush in for a few hits then back out, do not be too greedy as you can be punished by a series of swift spear strikes. As mentioned earlier once in phase 2 you can use your call to do considerable damage since his invulnerability does not last through the full duration of the attack from the gods whilst yours either gives you full invulnerability for the entire duration or gives you I-frames on start-up.

For Asterius you can just dodge directly through him for most of his attacks. He doesn't turn around for most of them and continue to attack into nothingness. When he charges put you back to a pillar and dash through him, once he hits the pillar he'll be temporarily stunned giving you a chance to attack or gain distance. In phase 2 you can do the same, simply dodge through him, try not to go to the sides as his aoe can hit you there. When he Jumps you can dash straight through him and then hit his back while he recovers.

If you're really struggling with this fight try the Shield of Chaos with Doom effects. It's slow but has the best defence as you can hold forward and ignore. I used this my first time beating the final boss and it helped me learn the mechanics of both the final boss and the fight between Theseus and Asterius well enough to come back with Stygius and beat them down. Hope this helps anyone who has been struggling with this fight
