Running through the game just to unlock Epilogue is really painful

I'm not enjoying my runs to unlock the Epilogue. I've exhausted every dialogue possible, every time when I return to the house, there is not any quest marks or anything.

please send help. this is really painful and i don't find it fun anymore.

I would like to know what's the unlock for it aside from just "playing the game and keep clearing"

I don't see how unlocking the epilogue is anymore of a grind than the base game. It gives you a reason to do more runs and keep getting unlockables/influencing the story/etc.

Would you prefer if the game just ended after your first successful run? That would be lame


That said the epilogue is optional. If you're not finding just doing more runs fun after beating it once then stop playing.

I don't understand why you are playing the game if the loop/runs does not appeal to you. The point of the game is keeping on doing new runs e.g roguelite, if you don't enjoy it you should just stop playing.

As others have said, if you're not enjoying playing the game, you need to ask yourself why you're forcing yourself to continue. There are videos on YouTube that will show you the rest of the epilogue.

I would agree with OP assuming they're talking about the epilogue. If there is absolutely nothing happening in the hub world over the course of 20-30+ runs then why is the game holding back the true ending from me? I've played the game for over 100 hours and I've exhausted everything I want to do. No dialogue or story outside of this one ending. Only cosmetics left to unlock. I would like to finish up the achievement list since I've worked on everything else.

If you want to play but get through it more easily, you can enable God Mode.
If you want to beat the final boss more easily, use the shield and bull rush him to death.

Unfortunately, that guide is like all other information out there on the epilogue and just says "not allowed to say yet, just keep playing". I too have 20+ post-credits runs with a mix of wins/losses and still haven't seen it either. Still enjoying the game but getting frustrated at being left int he dark of whether or not I am actually progressing toward unlocking the epilogue or not.

Also similar frustration with a lot of locked hearts on Gods despite having fulfilled their conditions ages ago (Ares, Poseidon, etc). Hope it doesn't boil down to yet more RNG I am having bad luck with.

Thank you to those who comment and understand that it's not about 1 time successful ending but rather, the vague unknown trigger conditions to actually unlock stuff.

like unlocking aspect of guan yu? you can go up to high numbers of run if u're unlucky.

Hm... I have been playing myself from before release, and the steps to get to the epilogue were getting a few times to the end, like... 10? I believe it was 10.

But, between each one, you had new dialogues with Nyx and sometimes Hades at the start. As well as later one with Achilles for a certain thing. And last but not least, Zeus and Demeter also have dialogues and I remember absolutely Demeter giving you a "clue" in the middle of a run that makes Zagreus react with a dialogue, so perhaps you are stuck on that one?

Are you in the middle of any sidequest? Perhaps it might be conflicting?

Achilles story is tied to that of Patroclus in Elysium. Since you don't see him very often, you might need to work on your friendship with him before Achilles' story can move forward.

Is hypnos' story somehow tied to the epilogue? Hes the only NPC I have not been able to get past the final 3 heart slots. But I can't interact with him in any way other than chatting for the past 30+ hours.

I'm not sure how much you need to do but I'm pretty sure you need to have certain prophecies done (relationships fixed) for other stories/issues to become available to fix/discover. If you haven't given everyone Ambrosia and helped them out then maybe that's what the game is waiting on?

Hypnos has new remarks now if you reach the end, but I am pretty sure they are just counted like any "death". At least, I got the 100 deaths message and I am pretty sure I haven't those many... failures, to change the word.

I've given ambrosia to whoever i can.. except the locked hearts. so i have no clue on it. like everyone stops accepting ambrosia. maybe i'll need to continue with Patroclus.
