Hades
Hera Aspect ?
Hi guys,
got the game a little shile ago and im loving it so far. Cleared it 30 ish times with all kinds of aspects, while the chirron bow is my favourite. Now i tried the hera variant the last run (heat 16) and i succeded... but it was far too close. I dont see the benefit of Hera to be honest. I played it with dio fog + zeus duo and dash from poseidon, but burned early throuh the second chances and had luck to get the patroklos buff.
I always seemed to never to any real damage, and even the burst was okayish imo. Why should i take Hera over chirron anyway. I mean i can still use casts this way ? The only time i got a cool run was with artemis ares duo, that was great fun.

Is there a great combo with hera ? Or do you just have to get lucky to get the hermes or artemis legendaries ?

Artemis is the trick.
Artemis + Aphrodite + Dionysus = Hera wrecking everything.

Ok, i will try it i guess. But cant i just use this without the bow ?.. The damage doesnt get buffed with hera right ? So i can go full cast, but without the bow or not ?
Well, basically, what I had was Damage Per Cast, Additional Arrows Per Cast, Crit Per Cast, Damage Per Cast Ejecting and +2 Additional Casts. And Aphrodite for the main attack.
So you do 500 additional damage (without crits) with fully casted main attack. Then when those eject, they do additional damage on top (again, crits!). And stacking Aphrodite and Dionysus debuffs until worlds end. Which kind of make the last fight a total joke.

For me, Hera's aspect has two main benefits. The first one is that with it your casts travel much faster and farther than they normally do. This is especially useful for the high-damage low-speed Athena's cast and high-damage low-range Aphrodite's cast. The second benefit is that you can retrieve casts from foes much faster than normal. This is especially important in boss battles, and makes Hermes boons not obligatory for beating the run (although they are still extremely helpful).

When you do a cast-based run, you want to get your preferred cast boon as early as possible and upgrade it with poms. Typically, 3-4 poms do the trick for me, but more won't hurt if you can spare them. If you have a heavily upgraded cast boon, then by loading all of your cast charges into one shot and firing at the right moment you can set up devastating bursts of damage. This works incredibly well against bosses and mini-bosses, when you often only have short time windows for damage dealing, and typically one-shots any standard enemies.

As with any other cast-based run, legendary boons of Artemis and Hermes are extremely helpful. But even without them, Hera's aspect (and Poseidon's aspect too) is perfectly capable of destroying everything in your path. Personally, I don't like using Ares-Artemis and Ares-Demeter duo boons, because you can't benefit from Abyssal blood (25 % damage reduction is huge) and Exit wounds, but they can be fun sometimes. However, Artemis-Poseidon duo (Mirage shot) and Aphrodite-Athena duo (Parting shot) are incredibly useful for Hera aspect, since they offer a very large damage boost. You also want to pick up any Chaos cast charge or cast damage boons you come across. Aside from the casts, just get a powerful Attack boon (Aphrodite, Athena or Demeter) and you'll be fine.

Lastly, this game is about having fun, and i find that Chiron and Hera aspects are both very strong, but play in very different ways. So use whatever feels more fun to you at the moment.

Maybe i try it woth aprho cast again..I only dislike that you have to run around doing nothing but dash charge shot until your bloodstones can be collected again. Sometimes they lie down beneath the boss etc.. it seems inconvenient, butt the big burst is always fun.. Maybe my reasoning for loving the demeter fists :D

Btw it is a bug that you can push back bosses with chrion special when using poseidon ? The last run was so easy doing this. The bull couldnt touch me, neither could hades. Easy game :D

I'm still new and learning the pros/cons of all the weapons and aspects, but the Aspect of Hera bow is by far my favorite weapon right now. I must have had a killer lucky roll, in that I got Artemis legendary, Hermes legendary, I had exit wounds as well. My main cast boon was the Phalanx from Athena, and then I was also lucky enough to get the Duo to make the Phalanx bounce between enemies (forget exactly what Duo that is, but I was lucky to get all these things). I would load up with 6 cast shots (got another cast from Chaos early on and the extra 2 from Artemis Legendary boon, so I was basically one-clipping stuff, and if it didn't die on the initial blast it was dying on exit wounds.

Hera wants exit wounds from Artemis since it just about doubles the damage if the enemy lives long enough. Max rank Hera aspect halves the time for bloodstones to drop (and then hermes can halve that again or more with rarity). Also much faster to load 3+ bloodstones in Hera than cast them individually.
Don't take Dionysus cast imo. No exit wounds and long recovery time for bloodstones. Go for Athena, Artemis, or Aphrodite. Poseidon can work too but sometimes the first or second cast will push the enemy out of the way from the rest of the casts, the aoe is excellent on it though. Which is another good point with Hera, it turns your basic shots into aoe shots essentially.
Keep an eye out for chaos gates. +1 bloodstone or cast damage is huge for this build since it's all base damage and those are both new multipliers. +50% cast damage in Charon well is great too. Leveling the cast and exit wounds with 2-3 poms is also a big damage bonus.

Ares attack + Aphro cast + Ares x Aphro duo + Aphro Empty Inside (longer weak to better enhance duo) + Aphro Sweet Surrender (damaging weak) + Ares Dire Misfortune (doom stack)

Artemis Exit wound is a nice bonus, but not necessary. You can use Stygian soul instead and with doom at play, don't focus on a single target, shoot once and forget them, they'll die soon enough if you have the duo. Focus on getting more cast from Chaos and Artemis, Quick Reload from Hermes. With 2 cast stones, and Quick Reload, you can load 1, shot and dash, ad infinitum, without having to wait.

Hera Bow is quite powerful, and is my go-to if i want an easy run.

So what do you look for?
Athena Cast is a MUST. Aphrodite works too, in theory, but Athena has better Duos and is generally more useful.
You want to get something from Aphrodite so you can get Parting Shot, which is quite insane.
Zeus is a good pick, because it enables Bouncing Phalanx Duo, which makes the Athena Cast multiply its damage.
For Chaos, you want either Extra Cast, or bonus Cast damage.
From Hermes, you want to reduce the time your casts spend lodged inside foes, so you can spam your main attack again.

Hermes and Artemis legendaries are pretty strong if you can get them. Exit Wounds from Artemis also works really nicely, especially if you gained extra casts from Chaos.
