Gemstones?
I'm not sure about anyone else, but I feel like the amount of Gemstones you get from room rewards is nowhere near enough.
Granted, the main source of Gemstones is through fishing and treasure troves, but still, only 5?

Yes, you can get gemstones in a variety of either ways, but only getting five from a room reward seems quite lacklustre, no?

Maybe, but:

Poseidon boon - Any Gemstone, Darkness or Obols chamber rewards are worth more. 50-65%
And boon - Gain an assortment of Gemstone, Darkness, Obols and Health.

Chaos boon - Afterward, any Darkness and Gemstone you find are worth +X%. 75-200%

And Underworld Renovation: Collecting Gemstone also gives you +20 Obols (3 Diamond)

But if you play, they will accumulate by themselves quickly.

I agree. Although there are many avenues for collecting gems, and I don't struggle too much gathering them whilst playing, the gem room itself (even with the obol upgrade) offers such a low reward that it usually feels pointless. I really think it needs an extra item added (like a pom, reroll, etc), or a buff to the obol or gem reward to be a meaningful route option.

Sort of like five whole darkness when you are grinding to 10,000+.

It’s common, so there is a lot of them.

It would be better with 10, imo, and/or a contractor upgrade should give more (say 50) gold.

get an epic chaos boon, stack that with Poseidon boon's, hell stack that with another chaos boon, you can be getting up to like 150 from treasure troves and if you're lucky hit 3 in one run by investing in them through charon pools, most gems i've gotten from a run was around 500. You can turn the game down to heat 0 and grab Poseidon's keepsake to ensure a lot of rolls at those boon's. Over all though, gemstones mostly pay for visual things around the house so you might find yourself kind of bored once you buy everything, I'm sure they'll add more gem stuff around the house in the final launch.
Though you may only get 16 gems in your runs when you're first getting good at the game, soon you'll have like 15+ titan blood and you can sell a titan blood to the broker for like 275 gems as well. At endgame the gemstone rooms also reward you with 20 gold which in my opinion is better than the 5 hp from darkness. I personally feel like gems are in a fine place but that a lot of house visual items are overpriced, this could be because they're trying to pad your playtime in early access (which i personally don't mind) maybe in the final launch the throne chair won't be 2k gems, for example. Sadly this would mean those items hold a bit less prestige.
I don't know man pick your poison, would you brain really get much more dopamine from gems being 3 or 4 more? or would the entire process of grinding gems being reduced by half just mean you stop playing the game faster, therefore ending with less brain chemicals for you in the end for your 25 bucks?
