Companion Shady - The Absolute Best?

Is there any reason to even look at any of the other ones? Sure, his damage is less good and harder to land than, say, Thanatos, but extra healing and gold and always useful. 50-60 HP of healing per cast is no joke, and the gold can help you get that extra item.

No, not at all Imo. Others are useless compared to it, since there is very low damadge cap / invurnability shield on every boss.

They all have different utility. There isn't any inherently *best* companion and it really depends on what you need. If you need the security of the extra healing, Bouldy is great. If you're running a more gimmicky build and need something to ensure the heat stays off you in specific miniboss rooms, Skelly is fine. If you need damage you have a lined shot, a nuke, a multi shot, and a double shot. Using these on bosses is all about timing, if you're watching health and know you're close to a phase change, you wouldn't use your companion charge anyway. That applies to Artemis greater call as well, as her minor calls aren't notable enough.

With Lasting Consequence at 100% healing value is nullified, so you end up with just 1k damage and some gold, so in the context of high heat Shady has to be one of the worst. Batty/Antos are good all around, others are more situational.

I pretty much always use thanatos, because I want to make sure I get as much damage off as possible in the elysian boss fight.
