How many attempts did it take you to escape?

So, I just finished attempt #34 without having successfully escaped so far. I'm curious to find out if that is normal or if I'm just a bad player

(and no, I'm neither salty nor frustrated, I LOVE this game)

Edit: thanks for your reports and suggestions. I managed to beat Hades on run #44, then struggled for a few runs, but now managed to beat him for four runs consecutively.

Hope you guys continue to have fun with the game. I'm sure I will.

7 tries. Rail(gun) with Triple Bomb is overpowered

I don't remember a count, but I think it was the first one I did with the Rail. As was said, Triple Bomb is overpowered, and doesn't take very much practice to figure out.

took me 15 attempts to victory. But after 30ish attempts i finally understand all the Underworld bosses and enemies moves, my current streak is 5 escapes.

I made 8 attempts at escaping before succeeding with the spear.

MVP was Poison Fog cast (Dionysus) + "lightning fog" duo (Dionysus & Zeus).

21 successful runs with 96 hours of play time.

Currently attempting Burn levels 3-6 on the various weapons.

It really seems I AM a bad player

That's fine though, I'm still having a blast with the game and will eventually escape the underworld...one day.

I think I took about 15, though in that case I too was carried by triple bomb and arti crits. I've had more success since however.

Is that with extreme measures on? After discovering what that pact did I have had it on for every run.

The boons helped a lot (so this part was definitely RNG), but the item that allowed me to seal the deal was that armor that allows you to have one more cheat death and reviving you with 150 health (at max rank)

I'm sitting at 32 unsuccessful runs now, gotten to Styx a few times but that poison is brutal. Especially after getting worn down by the Minotaur (Theseus is a pushover). Also spent a few runs making subpar choices in an effort to maximize Gems, Keys, and Darkness, along with a few runs just blindly trying out the weapons. Self-sabotaged a few of them with a bad hammer pick that just killed my primary attack.

Game's a continual work in progress, enough persistance will see you win eventually. Every run is built on the ones that came before, and contribute to the ones in the future.
