Wondering about Zagreus' red eye
His red eye, the right one from his perspective, intrigues me. What could've happened to it? Will we find some dialogue that addresses this question?

There are also references in some canonical sources to Zagreus being the son of Hades, which is the point of view we took for this game. Aeschylus' fragment 124[www.theoi.com] is an example (you can search for it at the link if you're interested). While there was not a lot of material about this that we were able to find, there being any such material whatsoever was very compelling to us. if Hades had a son, why isn't more known about him? What really happened? We wanted to tell that story.

Greek myth is filled with interesting contradictions and we like to try and acknowledge how some of them could coexist in the context of the game -- the Zagreus/Dionysus connection being one example.

I think thats inherited from his father Hades, I remember a dialogue said his green eye is inherited from his mother Persephone.

Look at Hades. See a similarity?
I've heard some suggestion that Zagreus is only half-god, and has a random mortal as his mother. Or is it explicitly stated that Persephone is the mother?

Hades and Nyx both admit to Persephone being his mother. Also, the Orphic Mysteries was a cult based around Zagreus with thus being his parentage; I've always assumed this is where Supergiant got the base idea from.
Okay, I took the trouble of looking it up, and in mainstream Hellenic canon, Zagreus was a minor diety, child of Zeus and Persephone, often conflated with Dionysis.
