Is there a way to edit my save to gain darkness?
Title. I like the game but I'm sick of grinding darkness.

Wait till you have to grind gems... lol...

Editing your save file might be too complicated since the file appears to be encrypted.

There are other workarounds though...

If you mean grinding gems for cosmetic changes in the house then I really don't care. I just want to play the game, I'm just about burnt out grinding darkness. Why does every run have to be improving the next run, just give me the damn upgrades so I can play. :steamfacepalm:

Well, it's a rougelike, steady progression has always been part of the genre

Roguelike means there's no consistent upgrades, this is a roguelite. What you call steady progression I call tedious grind. To each their own.

You really don't need to grind that much. 10k Darkness is more than enough to get everything, and the majority of the total cost comes from the Fated improvements, which end up costing an absurd amount of Darkness.
A decent run on a no-Heat Pact should give you 1000+ Darkness, as long as you find a decent Chaos upgrade.

I'm just tired of it. I appreciate the advice but at this point I'm really just looking to cheat it in.

Try using Cheat Engine to find and edit values in memory while the game is running. Be careful when installing it though - comes bundled with optional third-party software.

Hey, if you're tired of grinding, maybe the God mode is for you. I use it. No shame on it. I've only started to consistently beating the game when I reached 50% damage reduction.

Don't forget Poseidon adding % boosts like a mofo!

Way to necro my post fellas.

I eventually sucked it up and used dark thirst, Poseidon and chaos boons to gain darkness, but my question wasn't how to speed up darkness gain, it was whether or not save editing was possible, so while a lot of these questions are helpful they're not really what I was looking for.

LOL. Also you can play more hours. The more you play, the more darkness you gain...

I'm having the exact same question, and no good answer. There was a savegame editor named Pluto, but it dosn't seem to be working anymore. Haven't found any alternatives yet.

Let me know if you find a solution, and I'll do likewise.

Pluto: https://www.reddit.com/r/HadesTheGame/comments/eo3enn/introducing_pluto_a_hades_save_editor/. Doesn't work right now, though.

This is the way to go. Skip all the grind.
