Is Beowulf supposed not to block?
My first run with the aspect was an absolute disaster, especially because preparing a rush doesn't block anything. I thought it promoted a tank playstyle which it clearly doesn't, so any tips about how to play it?

It indeed does not block, it's even reflected in Zagreus' pose when charging the rush with shield being behind him. From my exp it promotes the exact opposite play style of juicing yourself up with cast stones and charging into enemies to deal AOE burst, so naturally it's a cast complementary aspect. Get a cast of your choice, some extra stones and Cast Damage buffs from Chaos/Well and try it, it performs really damn well.

No, BEOWULF is a reverse blocker, because it charges in the opposite direction to the sprint, so you need to reverse the sprint and turn your back to the monster to block it, just move the mouse

I've played it ones so far on 0 Heat.

I've got access to Demeters cast and to a second cast during the run. I've played recharging casts limited to 1 at the start.

It does a nice icy explosion. So you practically try to go for these realy nice chargedamages which easily reached beyond a 1000 with 2 casts loaded on the Demeter boon, with the boons accessable.

so this worked realy well for me

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it does, that didn't even cross my mind. But using that seems pretty wonky or am I missing something?

to be remembered is, that you don't need to charge all the way, just charge to the distance needed for you to hit. That worked best for me.

It works, you can try it, the only difference is in the direction of the other shield defenses, if you have Athena's bounce, you can even calculate a good time for a shield sprint

I was more concerned with how the sixth doll was acquired than with the three new weapons. It had been nearly a day since the update, and I still hadn't heard from any of the players, and I hadn't found any in the game myself.

What do you mean by 'sprint'?

Its Special attack is also very strong. Had a run with a 400% damage upgrade on special from daedalus (the one that lets you charge your Q), and I was doing something like 800-900 damage with it each time. AoE Casts (like Dyo) are also great to use with your Dragon Rush. This aspect is definitely more focused on going ham.

UH, sorry, did not express clearly, I mean the left mouse button after the attack. For example, in Daffodil plains or in a fight with Hydra, which is usually surrounded by enemies, it is more effective than other shields to defend against attacks from behind and to rebound from the front. Another way to play is to upgrade the long-range reserve attack by means of a hammer, so that you can turn around and defend in situ. After the attack, you can turn around and release the left mouse button to rebound remotely, especially if the right mouse button is loaded, i've tried the double blessing of ice maiden and Dionysus, long-range bombs that delay demolition and freeze enemies, which is very robust in this case.

Thanks for the inputs, I probably got the aspect all wrong that first time haha (and it was a 15 heat run so mistakes were punished HARD).

By comparison I'm finding the new bow to be more immediate, but that's probably because it complements my usual playstyle. Can't wait to try out Beowulf again.

From the playstyle, Beowulf feels like a kite/hit'n'run build. Run from the enemy, block with your butt, gather distance and then charge with empowered cast.

Not my playstyle but it is definitely not that unique. Lot's of aspects are hit 'n' run.

it feels a lot different then what I played with Zagreus or Chaos aspect, where I've liked to rely on the special to inflict something like doom and dash around the room until I've defeated every enemy.
