Excalibur!
I finally got to upgrade the sword and the trident and I gotta say, I have not been so disappointed in an achievement for a very long time. For all the waiting and cost these transforms suck!

Excalibur is sloppy slow and the life loss for the Fair Blade is stupid hard. I don’t know why anybody would want these. Please let the expensive last thing be a little overpowered.

Also: It would be nice if we could change the weapon transform (not the weapons themselves) between levels.

Excalibur is pretty good, just takes some specific building to show it's true potential. I recommend Artemis boons for slow, strong crit damage or Aphrodite boons for damage reduction (combine that with your special aura and you'll take so little damage.)

Excalibur deals 340 damage per combo, other aspects do 75. You also have more range. Your higher base health and up to 40% damage reduction means you have 3.3x as much survivability from the start. You also deactivate traps and become near-immune to projectiles (by slowing them down). Most importantly: It feels very different from the other aspects, which means more variety :)
Guan Yu starts you off with half health (and healing) and none of the defensive buffs, so I haven't tried a run using mostly the Attack combo. Instead: You have a 50 damage piercing explosive Special and a 100 base dps aoe spin attack, both are insanely strong. Strong enough that playing any other aspect feels too weak for me now. And most importantly: It feels very different from the other aspects, more variety again :)

all of the 4th aspects are more technical than previous aspects and require more specific play. you are often trading things like speed for the unique abilities the 4th aspects offer.

excalibur is actually pretty well favoured lmao don't take this as "git gud" but utilizing the 4th aspects well does literally require you take more time to practice with them until you get the hang of how they function.

Guan Yu is very powerful, but I agree Excalibur is painfully slow to use - even with Hermes +30% attack speed there's a bunch of enemies that can finish their attack animations before you hit, which just makes it annoying to use efficiently.

It is REALLY powerful but it does take some getting used to. Here's a moderate 46 heat run with Excalibur: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKRi-f2rwSQ

It was also further tweaked and buffed in the recent patch

Excalibur is the strongest Aspect there is... Most of my clears with it are under 20 mins and I'm not even rushing anything.

Guan Yu and Arthur are both insanely OP in their own right, guan throw builds just melt everything and excal is literally a tank high firepower and dense armor.

Guan Yu is the best aspect in the game what are you talking about

Be sure to max out the upgrades for Guan Yu first. I would suggest to use it with Sysiphus Trinket Shady for an emergency healing. But Yeah, that weapon is Insane!. His "Q" is poop tho.. haha
