Cursed Slash and Piercing Wave (bug?)

Just happened during a Poseidon Blade run and I'm wondering if this Cursed Slash and Piercing Wave interaction is correct?

Currently Cursed Slash only triggers on the final/third (lunge) attack of Piercing Wave. I don't know whether this is intentional, however this effectively means Cursed Slash reduces HP by 60% without providing a consistent form of healing.

Don't know if anyone else has run into this issue?

Are you expecting piercing wave to heal? Because it doesn't you have to hit with the blade to get the healing

Given that the description of Piercing Wave is: "Your Attack fires a wave that pierces foes, dealing 25 damage.", yeah I was expecting it to heal when the wave hits.
Tbh when I pick Piercing Wave, I tend to avoid melee and rely on the extra range + my cast. I never considered that it doesn't replace your attack (or counts as one), so I was pretty salty and certain it was bugged when I kamikazed my run..
