Im sugesting it because most of the permanent upgrade using titan blood is really not that good. Titan blood is a pain to get, im not even pass my first 1 heat, but that dont really bother me, the fun factor is gameplay tho. So for the rail, it just add ammo, mortaring zagreus to add damage, or first bullet damage. During my journey, none of them really matter. I cant depend on that, because zagreus need to avoid damage most of the time, while doing enough damage to enemies, preserving his life for final battle, because that is the most painful battle of all boss.
Beside that, i notice there still an area that not available yet in this current version, so i bet there are some of them in the next update to the final release, it will be a very long, and more painful, yet could be fun, journey after current final boss. With this implemented, i think it would really helpful for zagreus.
As usual in a roguelite it starts pretty steap then gets a little easier with the metaprogression,
in this case the mirror.
After you beat the game once you can immediately chose additional modifiers. Godmode in this game grants you damage resistance not immunity.
If you feel it is too easy you can counter it before each run to fit your skills.
Rail with a mortar type build is a nice idea but if you don't get the triple shot that's an issue. I'd suggest to always start with the chaos trinket and see what your first chaos and deadalus upgrades are. If you get stuff for the special, lean into it, if not focus on Dio and Aphro boons. Poison on attack makes for a very relaxing playstyle and you can use both of their respective trinkets later to for 2 assured encounters. You can safely ignore all other gods with this playstyle, though as usual, Athena is great for defense and Poseidon is just nice for extra rewards.
You can also unlock Poseidon aspect for sword (levelling it up is nice but unlocking it is enough) and go for chaos start again looking for cast upgrades. Most casts work for this but avoid Dio. It's also a very simple playstyle, try to avoid boons that have levels and maybe look for some defensive stuff and have fun nuking things.
I would say the other weapons don't have that easily accessible cookie cutter builds, or they require more investment to reach full potential. Poison builds is how I started beating the last boss before I could get better at other playstyles. Mostly because all the titan blood allowed for those.
@Lorska most of the time i avoid aphro and athena because they rarely gave attack boost, just weak status and deflect, so i though just by avoiding damage by dashing far away ill be good, and only used Dio or poseidon boons. I will try that later in my next run. Thank you both for the suggestions.
1) the duo boon of these two increases max stacks of poison from 5 to 8
2) weak+poison activates the 50% extra damage effect
3) the damage reduction you get from these two goes quite high, making it possible to just face tank the last boss
And don't sleep on Aphro for other builds, the cast is great, 50% damage reduction on anything as a status is really nice and she offers extremely high damage multipliers.
