Core is railgun + Zeus attack + Aphro special
Hammers are faster attack and triple special
You basically want to max out Zeus ASAP as it is your main killer and Aphro is a nice safety net and power multiplier.
I got INCREDIBLY lucky to get almost every single thing I might wish for and ended up with:
Zeus attack with: faster attack hammer, faster attack Hermes boon, double shock legendary boon, bonus bolt bounces and Jolted status
Aphro special with: triple grenade, extended weakness time, bonus damage to weakened foes and chance to charm on weak
Aphro cast
Athena dash with bonus dash from Hermes
Artemis seeking arrow on attack (at this point it was nothing but an overkill but hey, I don't mind slaying them EXTRA extra hard)
With both of attack speed boosts it feels like bringing a minigun to a sword fight (max Zag aspect recommended).
Everything gets melted, crowds get melted INSTANTLY and what is not dead in 2 seconds (which means bosses) is weak and double-cursed non-stop (weak + jolted, the former lasts for 10+ seconds per application with either special or cast and latter gets re-applied constantly by ridiculously fast attack), with a good chance of getting charmed.
3+ Athena dashes mean you are virtually immune to damage while moving around (which is OP all by itself but holds true for any othrt build as well), but you rarely need it because your solid stream of bullets destroys projectiles as well as it does enemies.
An interesting thing to note is that since majority of your damage comes from a ridiculous amount of bouncing lightning bolts your damage INCREASES when facing more foes at once. In other words "jury summons" are strictly beneficial to you and can allow to turn up the Heat gauge without actually making the run more difficult.
I was doing roughly 1000 a shot + 300-400 a cast so roughly 1200-1900 damage. Poor Hades.
Literally cleared 90% of the levels without taking ANY damage. Just snipe dash to pick up the cast remains.
The hydra all heads were 1 shottable... was insanely easy.
It seems to me that l hit a damage ceiling with weapons builds especially with the 3rd and last bosses, but maybe I'm building it wrong when it comes to weapons. Most of the times due to rng mostly, I have all the difficulties to reach lvl 4 on a specific boon. Is that were the problem lies ? Should I just concentrate on 1 single boon and level it up to lvl 10 (or more if it even possible) ?
If you want to deal damage reliably (meaning, without getting lucky with crazy boon combos), a safe bet is getting the mirror upgrade that improves your damage by 50% against enemies with a red Cast diamond stuck inside them. It's simple and efficient, the only drawback being that it doesn't work with some boons modifying your Cast (like Festive fog). The other upgrades that increases your damage by 50% against enemies suffering from two curses is also quite easy to trigger, considering that a lot of gods are able to provide source of curses.
So I would definitely not stick to a few leveled-up boons, but instead try to get as much of them as possible.
Chaos portals and Daedalus upgrades are also two very good potential source of damage, but it's a little bit RNG based.
I never used the cast mechanic since the beginning maybe that's what I'm doing wrong.
I haven't unlock the double curse damage increase for the moment so that's another thing on the list.
I guess that is what I need to do to boost the damage. Otherwise I have the impression that I am really lacking damage for the two last bosses, where the fight is dragging on for so long.
Hera bow + Poseidon cast
Load everything up and fire it at a group of enemies. The casts trigger in a sequence so the enemies get pushed super far and can be multi wall slammed. I got the cast to level 4 on my last run and the hilarity of launching a triple at a pack of armored spearmen and watching them get eyed in an instant was worth the build up.
Zagreus Aspect Shield +15% defense with Lambent Plume (shield special or dash attack spam can clear a lot of rooms fast). Dread Flight and Explosive Return, +% special speed from Hermes, Poseidon's Tempest Flourish with Typhoon's Fury and/or Breaking Wave and Razor Shoals, any curse inflicting attack or dash for extra damage to dual cursed enemies and stack any extra special damage with poms and Chaos. If other status is weak, take extra damage to weakened enemies if possible. Take any special crit or general crit chance from Artemis. Mix in a little extra defense and/or dodge chance if possible.
Just spam special and dash around/dash attack harder enemies into walls. Makes most encounters trivial with the right setup.
Hera Bow
Athena attack + Athena status ailment
Ares special
Artemis cast
It would work with any debuff on the attack but the above is what I had. It works because of the way the Hera Bow does its casts. Which is they activate in quick succession after the attack hits. I played it by hitting a special to get Doom up. Then hit an attack with all my bloodstones primed. The attack activates the double debuff bonus damage and the casts spike as hard as possible. Chase the Artemis cast bonuses for more winning. I had bonus projectile, faster drop and damage on drop. It took two volleys per Hades phase.
6 heat (forced overtime, tight deadline, heightened security)
Weapon: Poseidon sword
Offensive boons:
Artemis cast
Artemis legendary (+3 cast)
Artemis weaker second cast
Artemis dislodging damage
Artemis +crit damage
Chaos +cast damage
Hermes flurry cast
Zeus call
Defensive boons:
Athena duo
Athena dash
Athena special
vanquished Hades in less than 2 minutes.
Expecting chaos +cast and hermes legendary tho :D
Aside from my general Aspect of Chiron bow builds with homing crit Volleys, my most ridiculous two lately have been an Adamant Rail (aspect was rendered useless) and Aspect of Chaos Shield.
Adamant Rail. Had burst fire attack with Hangover, cluster bomb special with Chill.
Enemies permanently suffering from 180 degen per second (Hangover + Decay), with Trippy Shot dealing about 600-900 per hit and granting me bonus damage resistance.
I thought that was pretty crazy until I did an Aspect of Chaos run that was full offensive madness. Picked up the Duo boon that makes everything Epic minimum as my third boon.
Bull Rush fires a projectile with rapid charge and Chill.
Special with Weaken and increased damage reduction.
Blizzard Shot.
Hades lasted about 60 seconds with constant button mashing and going full offence.
Daedalus - rocket bomb, triple bomb
Artemis - critical attack, critical special, stronger critical hits, global critical chance increase, hunter's mark
Ares - battle rage (next attack or special after a kill deals more damage)
Chaos - increased special and attack damage
Potential duo boons - get Aphrodite cast and then pick up Heart Rend, or Ares cast and get Hunting Blades
Back it up with Hermes and Athena - dodge deflection, extra dodge, damage reduction, movement speed
--------------------------
The strength of this build is in dealing high critical hit damage with specials or attacks, getting a big damage boost from the Ares boon, and chaining critical hits through hunter's mark. You pretty much walk around 1-hitting everything with critical rockets and attacks: landing a critical hit activates hunter's mark, switch to that target and nuke it with a rocket, that will probably be a critical hit and a killing blow which activates both hunter's mark and battle rage, switch to the marked target and probably get a 1-shot critical hit kill, which keeps the chain going etc.
But, seriously, Artemis-based builds are OP af!
