Firstly there was mention in earlier game builds about them raised as brothers but that was removed. Secondly Nyx is a primordial deity and while she has her own direct children, she is typically depicted as a sort of motherly figure in general.
Huh, I wasn't aware of that. It makes their relationship a little more understandable, I suppose.
I've noticed that too and am also rather bummed. It seemed like the two of them had some great chemistry sparking off as they bonded on their distant feelings towards their respective 'families', as it were, and senses of isolation. I imagine the two would make great hunting buddies and Zag would be closest to her out of any of the Olympians.
