This would solve a lot of issues imo. Would be some kind of expensive thing you get after playing for a long time, if you want to farm a bit more, or get a bit more boons for fun, messing with the balance just because you've been playing that long and it's something different. Very unlucky players could also tip the balance further toward what they need/want.
I suggest up to +10% for either god boons or ressources, with each level costing 250 darkness.
Then we can talk about a system to give more complexity but to decrease choices to make the game harder i think's it's not what players want.
Another problem is that the resources that have taken the place of god boons have barely any utility during a run.
Two things that I have noticed:
1. Common boons are coming up more often even with the mirror maxed for rarity buffs.
2. I used to be able to get just 4-5 different gods of boons (excluding Hermes/Chaos) and concentrate my build around just them. Now I am sometimes given gods 6 and 7 in Styx and it leaves me unable to complete legendary boons, duo boons, and other general boons to improve my existing abilities.
Exactly the same. And not just in the frequency of boon rooms, but the variety of gods aswell. Sometimes i'll only see 1-2 gods in a run, save for one time occasions like the styx shop.
Yeah, this change is killing the game for me. Have tried to play few times this week but always give up because is frustrating right now, i can't play past 2-3 rooms at time since the update.
Most of the runs i end up spamming one single attack cause i can't even fill up with gods's gifts the column of attack, special attack etc..
And i was loving the game as it was organized. Hope the devs revert this changes.
We don't know if it's actually change. It wasn't listed. Honestly i suspect it might just be a honest mistake/error from their rebalancing and changes that cause some accidental collateral damage. + the addition of a new god diluting the pool. Maybe some numbers that weren't meant to be changed got changed.
It's not something they could easily be sure of (that something is off) while testing internally, it is pretty weird that so many people got the same feeling i did though. I hope it'll get a response from the dev, whether there is something wrong or not, or even if they'd just try to improve the game feel that way. For all we know though, it could just be psychological and we are just all biased.
Regardless, it's not killing the game for me but... i wish there was more opportunities to get the gods i want to see (which varies a lot from run to run), rather than running into either always the same one, or never the one i want to get all the boons from (yeah, that's in part due to rng but still). I think i can confidently claim the game would be much, much more enjoyable for me and for a lot of people if we just saw at least one more god boon per biome (especially Styx Temple where you don't actually get that many rooms, let alone god boons)
But regardless of a psychological thing or not, in almost every run i did since the update i can barely fill up the column next to attack, dash, ecc. because in most of the rooms i keep getting resources instead of boons.
I don't care if i get same god every room or a different one everytime, I care that most of the time i don't get any god at all, and instead i can only choose between resources that are almost useless during the run especially at higher heat.
