Boon frequency
Feels much, much lower than before? I used to be able to fill up like 3~4 columns of boons nearly every runs, but now i struggle to have even 1~2 columns of boons (in the in-run pop up boon listdisplay). It feels like i get many more darkness/gem/misc rewards that aren't boons now, all the time. I have like 4~5 boons by the end of Asphodel, that would never happen before. So like... yeah, i just feel like i'm barely seeing god boons anymore.

Am i just crazy unlucky, going paranoid, or is something off for anyone else?

I really hope you ensure that the player has access to a lot of boons and daedalus upgrades every runs (i saw some were removed from styx with the most recent patch), because they make the game fun. Lowering access to them per run won't make the game more longlived, just more boring, which will create the opposite effect.

I want a balanced game, but not to the detriment of fun. This is a mistake a lot of devs seem to make, so be careful. Not saying you've made a mistake yet, but watch out not to make one.

It seems i'm not the only one to think they reduced the appearance of boon rooms.

Was just thinking this on my last run. Boon frequency hasnt been TERRIBLE, but Charon's shop has been absolute crap. There does also seem to be a general increase in difficulty throughout the game.

Since the update I haven't beaten a run yet..

I thought I was dreaming. This is exactly my sentiments since the patch. Like 80% of my gates are just resources. I've even run cheat engine to re-roll doors dozens of time to see what was up and they only ever re-rolled to more resources like 90% of the time I re-rolled them. Hell, my last few runs I made it to Hades with less than 10 boons acquired. The only gates that kept me going were Poms. Out of dozens of runs since the patch, I've had maybe one decent run with what was normal boon drops. IDK if this is intended by the dev's, but it certainly is making this game a lot less fun for me lately.

Same thing with the shops. 4 out of 5 i get Health, Boon upgrade, Darkness or heal. And no boon. What's the point of collecting money if i cant spend it on something useful?

Also, why the hell Hermes is so rampant in Asphodel?
It may be just my RNG, but Jesus, i get Hermes rooms so many times, i started to think, that he is rigged to be there. And he is useless!
Hermes is set to 2 max before the Styx shop, as far as I know. You might be getting him more often if you keep skipping him, same as with the hammer.

Blue laurel doors will ALWAYS be gems/darkness/key/nectar no matter how many times you reroll them

Even so, they are far too frequent.

As someone fundamentally unlucky in RNG-based games, I can guarantee, the boon starvation you're feeling right now, I've felt since the game ever came out over a year ago. And I have not felt any change. It might even be the opposite for me, as I've been able to fill the 5 primary slots more often than during the Welcome to Hell update. So it's just a coincidence.

Sadly after almost 150 hours of play, this is the first time i feel like the game has bored me. This update has made it more difficult and it's ok but i'm finding for the most gemstones and darkness instead of boons. Now i can barely fill the first column while before i could filled 2-3 at minimum, and this make the run frustrating cause you can't respond to the increased difficult. Going from a 19 escape streak to almost none because you can't go for a decent build is killing the game for me.

Dont get me wrong i think its great that you had fun for 150 hours, but is Hades really be designed to be one of those be all end all aRPGs like Diablo? Because i am certainly guilty of having multiple max level characters in Diablo as well. But Hades? For me it be really long if i play it more then lets say 30 or 40 hours, if i woiuld buy it new and on launch that is.

Also its not an hours thing. Its about the experience that i had, was the experience worthwhile? Satisfying? Entertaining? Did i learn somethign new about a genre or games in general? That sort of stuff. Hours are not really a great measuring tool, but they are "a" measuring tool if you will.

I'm not saying I want hades to be like diablo or similar. I'm saying that the last update made the game less fun to play. I'm not using hours as a measure to rate a game but i'm valuying it by the fun it provides. Until the last update I could play another 150 hours and more because I found it really fun, difficult with the increase of heat, but right because you had the opportunity to adapt based on what was provided by the game, and renewing at each run the challenge. Now it has become a kind of less fun grindfest where you find fewer boons and sometimes useless which in my opinion have made the game from fun to sometimes frustrating. I'm not complaining about the game which was a big surprise and I think one of the best I've played lately, but about the latest update which I think made it less fun to play. I hope the developers in this case take a step back.

Yeah good point. To be honest i can see me playing Hades for a longer period then lets say Transistor, just because of the nature of the game and that it is really fun. I mean the combat is really satisfying even right in early access. And now i agree that have lost that feeling after the update... Before the upgrade my feelings were that everyghing is fun and hard at the same time until you figure out the game essentially then its still fun, and some stuff igets easy and some stuff is still kind of hard. Thats cool balance.. and there are many kind of pathways to rewards or unlocks and stuff i like that. The gifts are great for instance. Titanblood and aspects are pretty cool (aspects could have even more impact on the gameplay i feel) but.. yeah.. where was i? Anyways i hop aswell that the last update will be kind of not(!) the direction Hades is going. Still very excited to play more :P

Maybe the devs decrease the probability for trial of gods, but I haven't noticed any changes on the frequency of boons.

Probably, as i said before the game went from having from 2-4 column of boons to 1 at max. That's the only thing i'm complaining about. For the rest Hades is still the same, maybe a bit harder. Having less boons from gods made it a lot grinder. I think nerfing boons's chances of appear is the worst thing that can be done to balance the game. In my opinion it only cuts fun and replayability.

Also noticed it is reduced.

There were stealth nerfs not in the patch notes.

Game is much much harder, Not having as much fun, and hitting absolute wall around 10 heat.

I guess could go through obsessive min/maxing to progress a little more but not how I like to play.
