Boon frequency

Feels much, much lower than before? I used to be able to fill up like 3~4 columns of boons nearly every runs, but now i struggle to have even 1~2 columns of boons (in the in-run pop up boon listdisplay). It feels like i get many more darkness/gem/misc rewards that aren't boons now, all the time. I have like 4~5 boons by the end of Asphodel, that would never happen before. So like... yeah, i just feel like i'm barely seeing god boons anymore.

Am i just crazy unlucky, going paranoid, or is something off for anyone else?

I really hope you ensure that the player has access to a lot of boons and daedalus upgrades every runs (i saw some were removed from styx with the most recent patch), because they make the game fun. Lowering access to them per run won't make the game more longlived, just more boring, which will create the opposite effect.

I want a balanced game, but not to the detriment of fun. This is a mistake a lot of devs seem to make, so be careful. Not saying you've made a mistake yet, but watch out not to make one.

Now that you mention it I fel like I've been a bit more boon starved as well. Used to be one every other room, now it feels like its always Shop/Coin Key/Gems or Hermes.

+1 and it feels awful. i killed myself several times now cause i didn't want to play this run where i got absolutley nothing. guess i just put this game aside for now. the poison is just another factor that makes it awful. loosing all of your life within a blink of an eye while u try to dash through a gigantic room to reach the cure... just why?

Have experienced the same thing, and it's not listed in the patch-notes either. I get substantially less boons, to the point where I am questioning my sanity. Usually before the hydra I had 9-12 boons as well as 1-2 weapon upgrades.. but my last run I had 4 boons and 0 upgrades. Second run I had 5 boons and 0 weapon upgrades

Is it just RNG or is this something intended? The game is substantially less fun now.

Yep.
I barely get God trials and most of the time i have a few good boons and a bunch of random passives, like Premium Vintage or Sunken Treasure, because everything else is useless and i dont get to replace it.
Same thing with the shops. 4 out of 5 i get Health, Boon upgrade, Darkness or heal. And no boon. What's the point of collecting money if i cant spend it on something useful?

Also, why the hell Hermes is so rampant in Asphodel?
It may be just my RNG, but Jesus, i get Hermes rooms so many times, i started to think, that he is rigged to be there. And he is useless!

yes was in asphodel and almost on every second boat hermes...don't know whats up with him...wanted demeter did not see her one time

I don't know about the other weapons, but Hermes is my alternative if I don't have the Flurry Jab Daedalus for my spear because he usually has the Swift Strike Boon. IMO, his Drift Dash Boon helps against the Satyr Cultist in The Temple of Styx.

You must have been dreaming. First, you never could have two weapon upgrades before Elysium (and you not getting one in Tartarus/Asphodel is usually because you pick a Chaos or Heat gate, missing a hammer, and dodge shops... or got very unlucky this run, which is also a possibility). As for the 9-12 boons, it's similarly impossible, unless you nearly always managed to reroll poms/obol/hearts into boons.

I have personally, in 4 runs since the update, not noticed anything, but let's just say I've always been very unlucky, and not getting a hammer or not getting boons has always been a common occurence for me. There was a time I literally had 2 boons to fight the Hydra with, and that was before the Long Winter update.

Then I must have been dreaming too. I'm pretty sure I had runs with more than one Daedalus Hammer before getting to Elysium in my ~100 runs.

+1. Try new run with bow. Have only 1 boon before Fury.2nd buy from Charon. Gold,darkness, keys,gemstone...and only no variant to choose the way. I am even try to change rewards..lost 2 reroll and get another resource(

Sometimes there is not even an option for Daedalus before Elysium. Never happened to me before the patch. I know roguelites are supposed to be random, but playing without Daedalus for the entire 2 acts just feels bad. They are the most fun and impactful upgrades!

Yeah i feel exactly the same!
Also i wanted to unlock an Aspect for the shield turns out that Aspect is bugged and doesnt work! I mean in know its early access but an aspect bugged like that? Really? Titanblood isnt lying around everywhere

Before the lastet update i would get to Hydra pretty regularly by now, because i kept learning the game and i beat her once. But now i dont even get close and i wondered why that is.. boon frequency might be one reason, overall the game feels harder.

get good this is roguelite, not pubg. game was way too easy prepatch
