Hades II

Hades II

Room 4 to Chronos is incorrect (IIII instead of IV)
The room numbers in Roman numerals counting down until you get to Chronos is incorrect. It currently says "IIII" when it should be "IV". Small oversight but I think it should be fixed

It's not wrong.

IIII is traditional on clock faces as opposed to numbering years and counting etc which use IV. For stupid classical era reasons tbh. But it does tie in to Chronos' clock themes. Like the ticking motion of his attacks and the 12 hours on his torc and the clockwork all over his lair. Also his second phase is fought on a clock face and uses the clock markings mechanically in the battle.

I had to look it up to remind myself, but it's because romans didnt want to offend jupiter (IVPPTER, but also zeus) by putting his name on so humble a thing as a sundial. Which, in retrospect, makes it seem like Chronos would either use IV to spite zeus in a way mortals avoid doing, or use IIII to avoid having Zeus iconography on his clothing.

That's really interesting!
Yep, also - something I would not have thought of if writing the game were up to me. I'm always surprised and delighted when someone reminds me it is a thing every few years -.-'
