Hephaestus blessings
I always avoid Hephaestus' attack boons.
I think Hephaestus's blessings are difficult to use, in many cases, the blow of Hephaestus's hammer did not hit any enemies.

That's the question of playstyle.
I found Hephaestus very good against Eris and Chronos, especially if you find a Vent boon.

You either need to get a heroic rarity Hephaestus boon and pom it a couple times to get the cooldown to 1 or 2 seconds (use Aromatic Phial to achieve this) or, more realistically, put it on the attack you aren't using. For example, if you're doing a special focused Staff build, you will basically never use your attack. So throw Hephaestus on the attack so you can bonk enemies for 300 damage periodically when it's off cooldown, it let's you make use of attack buttons that would otherwise be useless on your build

My gripe about Haephestus is the Cast is just worse. It's damage is meager (150 base) on top of the downgrade in range.

I also find his other offerings bland. I generally grab his -10% damage one because resistance is hard to find but the flat +armor or prime for armor are uninteresting at best. I'd love to see him have more play on armor that isn't just passive.

Right now, if my weapon has a bad special (like the knives) I love grabbing his special + vent ability for 400-800 some damage every 10-15 seconds.

I have nothing against Hephaestus' boons. Sweater explained well how to make good use of them. But for some of them it does feel like I like them, but maybe not for the right reason.

I like the prime for armor boon because you do not lose HP when the armor breaks. I take it as an extra free hit from high damage bosses. Especially if I play with vows that make me take more damage from enemies.

I like his gain boon but only for the 10% defense. I hate the idea of regaining magick only if I get hit. I do not like retaliation boons in general, but for magick refill, that is just awful. It means if you are both low on life and magick, there is nothing you can do. Or it pushes you towards weird strategies, where you intentionally get hit by weak attacks to get your magick back. And I hate that it locks me out of getting another gain boon that would make more sense. I just want the 10% defense, thank you!
