Am I to dumb to fish?
What am I missing? I start fishing and than nothing happens until "its to late". No soundcue (I can hear), no indicator in the interface, just nothing.

When the bobber sinks, that's your cue to reel it in. Although I'm pretty sure there is a sound cue, so either you're missing it, or you've got a bug.

The fish pulls the bobber underwater. That's when you press the button.

The fishing minigame, to my knowledge, is no different than it is in Hades 1... other than maybe the overall timing involved.

Basically the bobber can do one of two things while in the water; dip down slightly (nibble, fake out)... and then fully submerge (proper bite)... it can do up to three nibbles before biting down during a run, and possibly more when duo-fishing at the Crossroads. To catch the fish, you need to press the button shown onscreen when it does it's bite

In not so many words; fishing is a reaction based minigame that does sometimes try to fake you out. There is a longer version of the minigame, which is reserved for Duo fishing at the Crossroads; this version can have more fake out attempts than the standard version you'd otherwise play during a run.

I have actually found a 2nd variation to fishing. 1st wave is standard Hades fishing (side note: bobber in 1 had max fakeouts of 3. Ihave seen 4 in Hades 2) and this catches most fish. However 1 fish started a 2nd phase where the original position is an orange circle and the bobber moves outside of and inside the circle. You need to press the button when the fish is within the circle multiple times to successfully reel in the fish. Hope this helps!

In Hades 1, i just close my eyes and listen for the sound, but the super rare fish back then requires you to press early, so I did not get it for a very long time.

Really glad they added the cat to get rid of this annoying mini-game.

Just pay attention to the area above the bobber, like in hades 1, it will have a flash of white stroke or something when it really bites, that is the time when you reel it in.

cat is terrible in what it gives you combat wise compared to the frog so beware and er fish are only bones so far i have nopt used a single one in a cauldron recipe so I just ignore the rod and fail the minigame every now and again when it decides to spawn

I've only ever seen 2 fishing tiles (despite having lots of hours into the game), and I've failed both times. :lmao_emily:

I'm not really having fun with the new fishing minigame. I liked the old one, but this new one takes too much time away from the run. It feels good when you use a lure, but in a run, I just want to play the bobber game and not have to real it in after.

Bones are great for getting moon dust and maintaining supply of nectar. Actually better to get a bone reward (50 bones) than a nectar as the nectar only costs 30 bones.
