Blessings of Hephaestus
I always avoid Hephaestus' active skills except for attacking ones.
Regenerating mana when taking damage is a death sentence even on normal difficulty. The amount of mana regenerated is ridiculous considering the bosses do a lot of damage. I thought this would work when using a damage absorbing shield, but nope.
Sigil also becomes much weaker, but you get nothing for it. His area of effect is greatly reduced, but you get nothing in return. Even if I get passive mana regeneration I still won't choose this blessing, as it will directly make my sigil weaker and the 10% damage reduction doesn't make up for that.

I was surprised to see how Hephaestus is spelled in English. I find it very difficult to spell these names correctly because they sound completely different in our languages.

It seems worse with a lot of things from classical periods or antiquity, there's been more chance for divergence. A lot of common English pronunciations of Greek, whether modern or ancient, are pretty far from the mark.

Some of the changes, like Heracles to Hercules, are just capricious.
I just recently played a game where there was a riddle with gods. Yeah, that's a funny coincidence. That's why I know how to spell Hephaestus. I don't like the way most names sound in English at all either.
Heracles sounds much better and closer to my language. Who needs and why these changes?

My main problem with him is that he doesn't scale. His explosions are really solid in the first 2 areas, and then gradualy fall off, and you can't really increase their damage.

And his curse is complete garbage.

I think they scale better with poms than any other blessing don't they?

Last run I had an epic (I think, may have been heroic) Hephaestus attack boon and the first pom reduced the cooldown from 8 to 6 seconds (a 33% increase to its damage per second) and all subsequent ones reduce the cooldown by a further second, all the way down to 1 second, meaning that sixth pom provides a 100% marginal boost. Most other boons are getting at best 5% of base damage or about a 2-15% marginal boost for a sixth pom.

A decent rarity Vent boon adds in huge bonus damage. When your attacks do area damage of 200 + 500 every couple of seconds you can burn through a lot of foes fast.
