yeah but in myth Odysseus tells Polyphemus his name in a gloating fashion when him and his men make their way to their boats, after he already took his eye, causing Polyphemus to call upon Poseidon. so Polyphemus should know his name or am i miss remembering the myth?
it's just a cute game with mythological inspiration. I'm sure if they wanted to, they'd just explain it somehow in-universe.
well there is lines saying how he can "see you" they say its his hearing and smell. they bring it up a few times, making sure you knew he was blind. the consistency with it is why i bring it up. everything with the myth lines up but Polyphemus knowing his name.
that being said i do love the interations
oh is that a fake eye he's wearing? that explains why he seems confused sometimes.
But yeah, i don't think they're looking for 1:1 accuracy here. the nobody gag is one of the best things from the odyssey lol so they prolly just wanted to include the reference.
yeah, if you look, its held on with a strap. but i get it. something that got my attention.
mostly cause in the games they are very accurate with most other myths they reference that it bugs me a little
