How do to get a Godsent Hex for one of Selene's hexes?

Google AI: To get a Godsent Hex in Hades II with Selene's Boons, you need to encounter Selene, choose a Hex, and then encounter her again to upgrade it through the Path of Stars, while also possessing a Boon from the Olympian god associated with that specific Hex.

I have tried quite a few things but simply cannot get a Godsent... here is my attempt:

1. At the Crossroads, equip the Keepsake of Selene the Moon Beam.
   
2. Exit the crossroads e.g. via the lower path, 'Selene' spawned right away.
   
3. Being your first chat with her, you get to select one of three of her Hexes.
   
4. I picked her "Dark Side" Hex.
   
5. This Hex is related to the god Aphrodite, and should yield the DUO boon "Allure of Aphrodite".
   
   Info: See the Book of Shadows (menu) on The Unseen tab, click on Selene, and then click on the Offerings button: On the "Hexes of Selene" list, scroll to page 31 of 34, the "Allure of Aphrodite DUO" is listed. And via the "Show Tips" button, you will be informed of the offering requirements:
   + Dark Side
   + One of the Following: Any Boon of Aphrodite or Beautiful Mirror (Aphrodite's keepsake)
   
   
6. After the first chat with Selene, I got a boon from Aphrodite after clearing the next 2nd or 3rd room in Erebus.
   
7. Now, AFAICT, you will not be able to "talk" to Selene again in Erebus (i.e. to open up the "Path of Stars" menu). (There are other ways to get a few more "Path of Stars 'Points'", but ignoring this for now.)
   
   
8. So the next area, in Oceanus, I was able to interact with the Selene icon (silver moon), this opens up the menu to the "Path of Stars"... here you can spend up to 10 PoS points.
   
9. I assume you need to spend points from left to right, trying to reach the icon on the far right? And that this counts as having "walked the path", and this is supposed to update the "Dark Side" Hex...
   
10. ...and yield a Godsent from that god, i.e. Aphrodite, since I have one of Aphrodite's boons equipped.
    
11. Nothing happens though. No Godsent...

How getting "DUO boons" works normally: I collected all the DUO boons for all god combos, and usually you would fulfil certain requisites there as well, once these have been met you would talk to one of the two gods involved in the DUO boon, and have a "chance" to collect that DUO boon.

The trouble is that you do *not* get to collect a different Hex from Selene in that run, so I have no clue how the Godsent mechanic with i.e. DUO hex "Allure of Aphrodite" is supposed to work?

I have no clue what to do with the Path of Stars points.

Note: I am presently trying all this while running the "Vow of Rivals" trials, should that make a difference.

You'll be told when choosing your hex which, if any of them, have a godsent. It seems to be rng afaict.

Ahh... I remember stumbling into on of those Hexes from Selene... it had something that looked like a Zeus lightning bolt next to it. Since you cannot re-roll Selene's hexes, this could get very ugly...

My impression is that you need to have at least one boon from the other god before you first meet Selene that run and pick a Hex.

A hex will be marked if it'll have a Godsent boon. It's possible for multiple hexes (at least two, maybe all three) to have a Godsent boon associated with it. AFAICT, it'll always be at rightmost side of the hex's boon tree.

yeah it took quite a while and some resets for me to get them all just keep at it. also note that the ares godsent is attached to the selene coat aspect hex so you'll want to start a run w that coat and the ares keepsake for that one

That makes sense... so you would normally not start the run with the Selene keepsake but instead with a keepsake from one of the gods from the "godsent" list. To then immediately be able to pick up a boon from that god...

And I actually tried that, before writing all the above. But I did not "luck" into a Godsent-capable Hex... (at least not knowingly). The only trouble with this approach is requiring even more luck AFAICT... I picked a keepsake of a god, but then every single time (3-4 tries) Selene would *not* provide the correct hex associated with that god.

Yes, that works as well. You can see all the requirements in the Codex. So having a god boon or their keepsake works either way but there is still the rng of if Selene will offer you the specific Hex you need.

Because, if you check the Codex entries only specific Hex work with specific Gods, so even if you have the prerequisite Boon/Keepsake you still need to roll the specific Hex that works with that god in order to get Godsent Hex.

But it's not that hard though. You just start with a God keepsake you're aiming for and after the first guardian you switch to Selene Keepsake and if you don't get the Godsent offered you just restart the run. It's quite fast to get all actually.

I am presently playing the Chaos Trials, checking if I can get Selene to yield a "godsent" Hex... nothing alas, so far. The god boon never matches any of the Selene Hexes.

But it did make me wonder if it might not be a good idea to collect boons from 3-4 different eligible gods, and to only then talk to Selene... this should 3-4x the chance that one of the god boons match a Selene Hex and possibly then yield a "godsent" Hex?

So... with all these tips...

I used Hera's keepsake at the start of a run and collected a Hera boon, to then in the first area (Erebus) collect boons from Demeter, Apollo, Ares additionally, then I re-rolled a gate to get Selene, and this is what that yielded, i.e. 2 "Godsent" Hexes from her:
