Would it be a good idea if charybdis was the final boss in the sea area?
Charybdis could be a little stronger and Eris could be as it is but the final boss in another upwards area... Giving more time to prepare to deal with her wouldn't make she easier? since a lot of ppl are struggling to deal with her

I don't think more run time would help ppl deal with her patterns, or address some of the criticisms that ppl have with her stats.

theres not really a way to "prepare" for eris. The main issue with her is, you either dodge everything in the late part, or you take 20 damage hitsplats constantly.

I was wondering if that was not already the devs' intention. Kinda weird to have two bosses in one area. And thematically it would make a lot more sense for Charybdis to be the boss of that area (It would probably need a buff). Plus, if I remember correctly, there are no mini-bosses in that area. It feels like there should be proper mini-bosses that are optional like Charydbis is right now. And Charybdis should be the non-optional boss of that area. I could also totally see the current Eris battle arena as the transition room between the two areas.

But when thinking about what they would do with Eris herself, it kinda falls apart. I don't think people would be happy to have Eris as the boss of the third area, because now that we know her, we would probably prefer to have a new boss for that future area. And she, also, would probably need a buff (or rather, a rework) to work as a third area boss.

So, I don't think that is going to happen. But I like the idea.

Is Charybdis a guardian? I kinda just assumed it was the mini-boss of the area, but had a big health bar so you can tell roughly how many tentacles you have left.

It's a mini-boss, though I think it's a lot more difficult than any other mini-boss in the game as of yet personally. Honestly I struggle with it more than Hecate or even Scylla and the Sirens at this point lol, but that probably comes down to not being as familiar with Charybdis' moveset

Eris is pretty much the most fair boss in the game, definitely a lack of offense going from people who have a problem with her

I love eris. But just pointing out that pushing her farther in isn't going to help anyone who's complaining about her lol

Dunno, she has a massive blind spot behind her back
Can't really help people having a problem standing in direct gunfire

Now that you mention it, Hecate is so easy that she doesn't teach to game nowhere near as well as Megaera did

Yeah hecate feels like...a mini game boss. Actually yeah. Trim her life bar and second phase, and you have a tougher mini boss lol

I feel the same, i've lost some death defiances there, and knowing i'm going against Eris just after makes me want to give up the run cause i already know i won't win xD

I thought of that bc Charybdis has some difficulty and a lot of health, it could be buffed to be the boss from the area and then the team could make some proper mini-bosses.

On that note, i think Eris could be the final boss of another area, a mountainous one, so yes it would give us more preparation time but she is also a harpy... Why is she on the shore? she should be near the top of Olympus, and while it wouldn't have a surprise element for us to meet her there, she would still be reworked, would get to spawn different enemies, etc... It would still be different than before

I know going up should be harder because it's only unlocked after we're so far in the game and we as players are already stronger than before at this time, but it's a bit too much rn

True, Uh-Oh is a special case of mini-boss as well, but that is more of a joke about the importance given to a small rat, and a reference to the previous game. But IMO it is functionally more similar to a mini-boss: buffed up version of a normal enemy, not a lot of different attacks. Whereas Charybdis feels closer to an actual boss: unique monster, more attack patterns, different phases, actually relevant in greek mythology, not a joke but actually a huge monster in your way. It is a bit too weak to be a proper boss, but it is really almost there. I mean, for a proper boss of the second area of the surface, because I do feel like it is already stronger than Hecate.
