It DOES exist, the legendary Chaos boon

I'm making this post just to show people, this boon DOES in fact exist, and there's no requirements to get it. i remember a lot of people speculating about conditions or things.

I did not have any death defiance arcana, i did not have Tulla, this was the very first room, i just got Demeters boon for freezing specials on epic quality, and saw either a room into erebus for ashes i didn't need, or a chaos gate. I DO have the egg equipped though, i don't think that matters in the selections or appearance though.
this was taken just today, i had just defeated the third boss on the surface, and thought to do a run underground with the new weapon. go into chaos, and bam, saw this, remembered discussions, events lots of things... and said "screenshot this, maybe it'll help them know there's no actual condition other than the arcana for rarity stuff"

There is a condition: you need a prior Chaos boon in that run. Beyond that, it's just extremely low odds. I've had it offered only a few times in well over 200 runs.

As you suspected, the egg has no influence.

i do think this is right. and that means the egg sorta matters in that i got it in the first room, i saw this and immediately gave up the run and retried several times.. never appeared. the moment i took the egg again, sure enough it showed as the first choice - meaning hte boon from the egg counted for that chaos. cheers for that, i kinda have in my mind what's needed... but since no other pre-req, and needing 2 chaos rooms, or 1 and the egg.. and it being legendary of all things - i imagine it's just like the hermes boon. cheers for that. sincerely appreciate it since it makes sense since that's how hermes works.

The big difference with Hermes is that each of his boons counts as one. You can therefore improve your odds (and your re-roll odds) with each boon you accept. With Chaos, because each Blessing type carries any of 17 Curses, you can't really do that in a way that's statistically significant; you can accept Gagged Affluence and then stack it later with Doomed Affluence, and so on. This means Defiance is almost exactly as buried in the pile as it ever was.

The legendary one isn't too rare compared to the heroic one. Saw the legendary 6 times and the heroic only twice.

I think devs upped the chance of Chaos Legendary in the Olympic update.
I got 2 offers in one run, and then 1 offer in the next one.
Sadly, it is also much less useful now, as Strength is better than Eternity and with it you lose out if you take a single DD(but not multiple)

Even so, you need to get a chaos boon, lose a DD, then find chaos again. If you find that you keep your DD's fairly frequently then it essentially never appears.

Don't need to even have it. I now almost exclusively go without the Eternity Arcana and I still got his legendary offered 3 times.
Also, would Chaos Boon from Embryo count? I think it should...

Ive seen it a handful of times in about 150 runs, ive also seen double legendary chaos boons in the same pull. I dont think its that rare you guys are just skipping chaos rooms probably lol.

I was doing literally nothing but Chaos because, pre-patch, Defiance was the last thing to tick off the Fated List (and afaik Defiance is no longer on it). It took weeks of persistent pursuit to finally get it. They have changed the rate recently apparently, but it's still sure to be hard to get because of the maths of it all.

Chaos Boon from Embryo counts; I now have more than one encounter where Chaos's Legendary was offered when I only had one Chaos' boon not from entering his realm but from his keepsake.
