Hades II

Melinoë is much stronger than Zag.
Yes, they have both been trained and are powerful. But (1) Melinoë was trained by a Titan since she was a child and (2) Zagreus' greatest challenge was defeating Hades, while Mel is capable of defeating Chronos, the Titan who needed several gods together to defeat him.

No you are wrong Mel only can beat Chronos because she got boons from gods, she is so weak she cant even draw a bow :lunar2019crylaughingpig:
Zag is definitely superior :cuteDoge:

Yes, both have boons to help them. But still (again) she is able to KILL the Titan of Time, the same Titan that was killed by Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and I think other gods too, and in the game Hades tells Melinoë that it was difficult for the gods defeat Chronos. If it was difficult even for the gods, then Melinoë is frighteningly powerful. And as strong as Zagreus is, he was trained by Achilles, while Mel was trained by a Titan since she was a child. Her life's mission was to be trained to defeat Chronos.

Mel also has a power that's only used for progression/narrative stuff. She's a witch. That doesn't give her the skills she has with weapons, it's a whole different set of skills. Look at everything witches like Circe, Hecate, or Medea can do, and that's the kind of power Mel could develop.

Yes, eventually she may be able to do incredible stuff, like make someone slightly larger/smaller, or even give someone 10% chance to find extra gold on defeated enemies twice in an encounter.

Gee, I wonder. If Zag was properly trained (Achilles is a ♥♥♥♥♥ ass clown comparing to Diomedes or Odysseus) there could be an argument

Not sure by metric of raw power. But she's definitely more capable of fighting Chronos with her witchcraft. It is quite literally the inability to manipulate and ignore the influence of time the rest of her family has that prevents them from contending with Chronos. If not for that, Zagreus probably could contend with Chronos. I think against most other enemies it would be a lot more balanced, especially with Melinoe's time slow being a lot more brief and technically being granted by the moon's pale light. But when fighting the Titan of Time, it's ultimately her built up resistance to time manipulation that makes her shine. Could Zagreus learn to do the same if the wicked witch of the Gains offered to teach him and he was presently not trapped? Maybe. But an unclear amount of time has passed with Melinoe's training, though she went from literal baby to young adulthood in the time it took for her to be ready to resist the Titan of Time's power. So it stands to reason that Zagreus, even if allowed to learn these magic arts, which seems unlikely given the lack of men spellcasters in her coven, it'd take far far too long for Zagreus to catch up with her.

I guess to simplify it all down; I have more faith in Zagreus successfully dealing with a problem that needs raw annhilation . You gotta hit it REALLY hard. But the second you have a threat where you can't hit things hard and be fine, aka you need spells to be cast to change fate, manipulate time, lower impenetrable barriers and much more, Melioneo's your gal.

Although ultimately, at the end of the day they'd be an even mightier force working together. And it would be kind of cute having them train together, teach the other to use their weapons. Maybe Melionoe, if allowed by her headmistress, could teach the most minor of basic spells to Zag. I just wanna see brother and sister reunite ya know? Zag is such a sweetheart. I could totally see him eager to make up for lost time. Even being willing to do stuff like help Melinoe with her hair and other small things. Likewise I can see her joining him in redecorating The House of Hades when Chronos is gone.

The only difference is that Melinoe gets help from BOTH gods and titans.
Zag had it mostly on his own with some god's boons.

Don't forget that Mel found a way to survive in the overworld. Zag never could.

Sometimes strength comes out of cunningness.

you know what guys - Zag might not be stronger warrior but he's got a bigger butt :imSorry: and a badass boyfriend with a scythe :sorryForWhat: unlike some skinny femcel
Crow Buddy Nov 7, 2024 @ 3:31pm
Skinny femcel, good one. lol, that threw me off-guard.

But seriously, Mel wants to date plenty of folks. We're just in EA, so none of the relationship options are available yet.

Icarus, Moros, Nemesis, maybe even Eris, if she's feeling extra spicy. Mel is downbad for Hypnos, too.

She's gonna get busy in the full version of the game.

Try looking at the myths, not how they're represented in game :)

Or, you know, how she did stuff like breaking a curse neither hades, zag, or anyone it seems could so she could survive on the surface.
